Rock Bottom Vagina...

Anyone else still having really bad post partum pain? I'm at 6 weeks, and I know that pushing out a 10lb baby is no easy task but I figured I'd feel some relief by now. It hurts all the time, if I sit too long, or stand too long. I've been trying to do light walking since delivery, and by the time I make it home after one block I'm throbbing. I have sharp pains around the entry of my vagina, and horrible pain (like I'm being punched) in my clitoris sometimes it feels like everything is going to fall out when I pee or poop. I've tried the bathes, ice packs, lidocaine and things really don't feel right. I can't imagine even thinking of having sex again at this point. I go in for my 6 week check up tomorrow, but just wanted to see what anyone else is experiencing since everyone I know either hasn't had children or has had C-sections. I feel like my vagina has hit rock bottom, and I fear there will never be recovery. lol

  • My goodness, I can't share any similar experiences but I hope you get some relief soon!

  • I have that pain anytime I go to the bathroom. Otherwise everything seems ok. I still can't run. Which ducks because I'd really like to add some heavier cardio than just walking but running sucks. And I'm at 5 wks pp.
  • My vagina is fine, but my butt is a whole different story. I would really like to poop without being in pain for the rest of the day. Is that too much to ask?
  • Did you have any stitches?

With DD1 I had several and I was in a similar situation.  If you haven't already, talk to your Dr and see what they recommend.  My stitches hadn't full dissolved after six weeks and because I stopped with the peri bottle and baths after a couple weeks.  It was about five other six months before the sensation went away.

Could you have a uterine prolapse? At my 6 week appointment last week, my OB noticed a minor uterine prolapse. Thankfully I haven't had any symptoms, but what you are describing sounds like what my doctor was telling me about prolapse.

I am six weeks too and still having pain after a second degree tear and stitches. I went to the OB about two weeks ago thinking I might have an abscess or something. It turns out I have granulation tissue in the perianal area that still hasn't healed and my internal stitches are still there. I am going back next week and if it hasn't healed I'm going to have him use silver nitrate to get rid of it. Have you used a mirror to look down there and see if there is anything red and unhealed looking? My pain is very localized and sharp in the area of the unhealed tissue.

  • @Ready4theParty  I do have stitches, I tore in 4 directions so I had external and internal. It ripped me past my pee hole. :-( I thought that most have disolved, but I could be still feeling the internal maybe. I still use the peri bottle and try to give my self 10 minutes for a bath at least 3 times a week. I hope it won't be that long before it feels better!
