Can I cry for a moment?

Friday night one of our family dogs snuck out and we can't find her. I've been going crazy searching for her, posting on all the local boards and everything. I've basically given up hope and I'm so sad

Re: Can I cry for a moment?

  • Our family dog ran off one time and she was gone for several weeks (probably a couple months total) and she randomly showed up at our door one night.  Crazy.  He/she might be running wild for a bit and may come home on their own (or found/spotted by someone).  But I definitely understand it's sad and stressful not knowing where he/she is at or what he/she is up to.  I hope they come home soon.

Do you have a local shelter that holds found animals? If so make sure you check there. Hope she comes home soon!
  • Hope you find your pup soon! Mine was lost for just a night and that was hard enough. The humane society had her so I was lucky there.
  • How awful! It's never a good feeling to have a pet run away. Is your dog chipped?
  • Aw, I'm so sorry. You can definitely cry for a minute. I hope your beloved pup finds her way home very soon.
  • Thanks everyone.
She isn't chipped and we just got new collars so it doesn't have any tags :(
shes still missing and we are just heartbroken over it. My 4 year old keeps telling me how hard it is not to feed her dinner with the other pups.
It doesn't help it's been storming this whole week either.
We've put up posters and posted on all the local boards and Facebook. We still are holding out someone will turn her in

  • Keep us updated!
  • I don't know if you've tried, but putting out her crate or familiar objects like her toys, your shirt, etc will attract her to the scent. I don't know if you get a lot of animals near you, but water and food helps too. Also check hidden spots, under a deck, car, grill. If it's been raining, she's probably seeking shelter.
  • ^^ or ask your neighbors to check inside their garages or sheds. She may have wandered in one while it was open and they unknowingly shut her in there. We only open our garage once or twice a week (when doing yardwork) so if a pet wandered in there it's possible I wouldn't find out unless I was asked to check

I hope she comes home soon

  • Thanks y'all. Still no luck.
Weve posted on all the sites and keep bumping them. We've visited the shelters. Put up posters. My neighbors have taken a trip around the block. We have checked the sides of the roads and still nothing.
Im honestly thinking someone had to pick her up. She's so friendly and lovey and gentle. I am hoping someone brought her in and decided to keep her. I mean that's better than her wandering around  She was a stray when we got her at 4 months so maybe she just never grew out of it even though she's 4.5 now?

  • Oh no! That's not the update I was hoping for. Could be worse, but it still sucks she's missing. Hopefully she's just out on some adventure and will make her way back home.
