Double Strollers...and beyond...

So...I know its early but I have one Lo who is currently 16mo now and will be turning 2 when this LO should be arriving. (thinking positive). I didn't really get a choice with my first born about a stroller my mom went out the day after she found out and bought it....she was excited ling story.

So I am trying to get peoples thoughts, opinions suggestions on double strollers or even triple.

Maybe it will help other people.

The one I have been looking at was the Baby Jogger City select...because it is a convertable stroller with 16 avaliable positions if you buy all the parts and a board can be added to the back for oldest child....

Anybody have opinions on that stroller?

I'm totally an over planner and over maker of many list, etc.

Re: Double Strollers...and beyond...

  • Following because this is on my list of things to research. DD will be 2yr, 4 months in Jan. I told myself that I will not do anything about a double stroller until halfway through, unless there is a great deal on my local buy/sell/trade group. The way you described the jogger city select sounds pretty amazing though!

I have the single jogger city select right now and really like it.  I don't use a stroller that often though.  I'll probably either baby wear and put DD1 in the stroller or DD1 will walk and I'll use a snap and go with the bucket seat for LO 2.0.  I don't think we'll need a double stroller until LO is 6mo +, but I'm interested to see what people recommend.

  • I've heard some people do not care for the board that attaches. I was looking at double strollers today graco has a sit n stand that also works well with the click connect system. Which I have leftover from DS1. there are so many options and price points i get overwhelmed lol

  • That stroller is my dream and I'm freaking buying it this pregnancy. Twice/year at buy buy baby they run a special where you buy the stroller for $499 and get the second seat ($199) for free. It makes it much more affordable. I'm guessing the deal will come out again this summer.

I have the city select and love it. My older son was 25 months when my second was born and I used it with him sitting in front and the attachment for the baby's carseat for the first couple months.  Now that they are 1.5 and 3.5 they still fit comfortably in the seats.  3.5 yo walks sometimes, but not regularly enough to use a single stroller.  It is a really great stroller. I also have a double jogger that I love and use when we take walks.  I SAH with my kids so strollers are so necessary and used everyday.  Wearing one and pushing the other in a single stroller does work well, but in summer I found it was too hot to wear the baby in the carrier for longer walks. He got so sweaty it just didn't work.

I have the city select and love it. I will just be adding the second seat. My son is also 16mo and this baby will be born right around his birthday. My sister also has the city select double and loves it. It's a little heavy to push with two kids but I think any double stroller with 2 kids sitting in it gets heavy. Also, I am wanting to change my seats colors. I currently have a red seat. But I know I can't buy 2 new color seats without selling my red one. Would you or anyone else be interest in a red baby jogger seat? I could sell it to you for less and then you'd just buy one more red (or a different color).
  • We have an old double stroller my grandma gave us that she got at a garage sale years ago. We will use that for our this baby and our almost 2yr old. If we go somewhere with a ton of walking, like the zoo,  my then 4yrs old can ride and I'll babywear.

  • DS turned 2 a week before DS2 was born.  I used a sit n stand with them and loved it.  When DS2 was really little I just wore him and pushed my toddler but by the time he needed to sit in the stroller DS1 was big enough to get the whole "hop on, hop off" thing.
  • I'll be getting a sit and stand because my daughter will be 4 when this one is born and even now she still gets tired and wants a stroller.  I want to give her somewhere to rest on longer trips.

I have a stroller that never gets used so I'm not even going to bother with a double stroller I babywear 70% of the time the other 30 DS walks. I plan on Babywearing from day 1 this time around instead of 2 months in :) there are plenty of ways to tandem so I'm not worried about it.
