PIO vs suppositories

hey guys, I stated PIO injections last Tuesday. I had a fresh transfer this past Friday. Ever since I started my PIO injections I get an awful fever off and on (101-102.5) a couple hours after injection and the body aches and fever go away about 4 hours before my next shot the next day! It's awful! I've switched to a different oil based progesterone and it has still been the same. I want to do what is best for thes embryos during this 2ww but this fever is awful and probably not good for them either.
The nurse is going to ask the Doctor if I can switch to the suppositories. I'm just concerned bc I've read about the suppositories not being as effective. Has anyone had a successful fresh cycle with suppositories?

Ps: I've had a flu and strep test and both came back negative so I think I'm just extremely sensitive to these PIO injections.

My friend who went to my RE is 3 months pregnant after a 5 day fresh transfer and she did the suppositories. I'll be starting my first round of IVF and am interested to see what they'll have me do. For IUI I took progesterone pills twice a day.

  • For my first ivf cycle,  I did the Crinone. Hateddd it.  2nd cycle,  the tablet suppositories.  Both failed cycles.  Now,  on FET had transfer today.  Have been doing the PIO shots, and yes they are TERRIBLE.  The soreness is a drag, and the actual oil is painful.  I can't say ive had your side effects,  but the suppositories didn't work well for me,  which is y my dr switched to the pio
