Help! When did you take your clomid???!!!

Question ladies!

I went for my CD3 US and BW, but had to go to a different office because it was the weekend and I didn't see my regular doctor or nurse. I got the call in the afternoon with my results and the message said to start my clomid on CD3 which was yesterday evening - I didn't even have it yet because I was never told my protocol was changing (I usually take it days 5-9). This office has given me incorrect information before so I questioned them and they said they don't see any note to change my protocol so I should start on CD 5 like I have on previous rounds. My regular nurse responded to my email this morning stating that I was supposed to start yesterday!!!!!! She said that because I didn't that I should do days 5-9 again. Apparently my RE wanted to try a hail mary or something on this last IUI round. I inquired about starting CD4 and she said their office doesn't do that. Which doesn't really make much sense to me. I know that taking it earlier produces more follies but taking it later produces better quality follies. I would think that CD4 is a happy medium, especially since I was supposed to start yesterday. I'm thinking of rebelling and starting tonight anyway.

So my question is: Has anyone done CD 4-8 before? I wouldn't mind another follie or 2 this round! Thanks in advance!

I always did 5-9. But that was when I was just seeing an OBGYN. My RE has now switched to Letrozole 3-7. I had asked her what the difference was and she just said different doctors do different days. I had never heard that it affected follicles differently. That's good to know because I never had very many follies on Clomid, and only Oed once. Good luck!

I usually start around CD3, but at least once has been a bit later just because I wasn't able to get in for a baseline until CD4. I think it just depends on the RE and your bloodwork. GL this cycle!

I did cd 5-9 when I saw my ob/gyn years ago. Last year with my RE, we did all my Clomid IUI cycles on CD 3-7. My husband has a lot of male factor issues and I am a naturally late ovulater so he wanted more follicles with an earlier ovulation. 2 of my 3 cycles I only had one dominant follicle but my ovulation date was 4-6 days sooner. We did trigger ovulation though.

I've always taken clomid CD3-7. I've heard One protocol is for egg quality and the other for egg quantity, but I'm not sure which.

Egg quantity is earlier and egg quality is later. I ended up starting today on CD4. I couldn't understand why my RE originally wanted me to start on day 3 but now wants me to wait until day 5. Apparently they don't do cycle days 4-8 which makes absolutely no sense. This is my last IUI before moving to IVF so I figured it can't hurt to do something a little different and see what happens.
