We sometimes call it "spawnling" my Dad calls it "Bubba" which drives me crazy. I think nick names can be cute, but I have ruled out some names for what they can be shortened to.
Heartburn that only happens when I sleep keeping me up at night! It's hard to get back to sleep with a freaking walrus open mouth snoring right in my ear.

We pretty much call her by her full name now, but we named her with the intention of her going by a nickname, so we'll see. Neither of our families are big on nicknames.

Her name doesn't really have a nickname. This will be the first grandchild so I don't know if anyone will come up with any. My family didn't do nicknames growing up. I don't think she'll have one.

We originally LOVED the name Seraphina, but DH's only sister is named Sarah and we thought Seraphina might get shortened to Sera, too similar. Our girl name only has four letters, so it would be hard to nickname it I think. Aria...hmmm maybe Ari, but that seems silly.

I'm sure our LO will be called Cole as a nickname for Colden by DH's family but I'll be calling our son by his full first name.

Nicknames are super important to me. My cousin goes by his middle name because his mom named him Mattson, but didn't want anyone to call him Matt- so of course, people did and she decided to go by the middle name instead. My mom didn't want me called Al, but of course her brothers called me Al and it stuck as a nickname. So we thought a lot about nicknames and I wanted a name that for sure had a nickname I liked- Oliver can be called Ollie, which I love!

We've been calling ours "El Nino" or "The Nino" (like the old SNL Chris Farley sketch). We were calling the baby that even before we found out it was a boy. Not sure if that nickname will stick, but I kind of want to dress him up like the Chris Farley character for Halloween!

We have picked both of our names based on liking the nicknames. I tend to shorten everyone's name, so it was important to me that I like the shortened version of our kids names. DS1 is Cameron and I fell in love with the nickname Cam before I even thought about the full name. This LO will be Beckett and, although we don't plan on going by the nickname quite as much, it will be Beck and I think it's adorable. Now we just have to pick a middle name...
