How are all the team green mamas doing? I thought this would be a good time to check in since we're squarely in anatomy scan season.
I was team pink my first two times around, but now that I'm committed to being team green, I'm actually really enjoying the benefits of waiting. I won't actually have my anatomy scan until Monday at 23 weeks (because I've been working way way too much -also why I have been MIA around here for so long!), but I did have NIPT done at 11 weeks so I could have known the sex for awhile now if we had wanted to find out. I'm surprised with how little I care to know the sex this time. I loved being team pink the last two times. Anyway, how are the rest of you holding up?
Also, GTKY: has anyone been window shopping for / purchased a gender neutral going home outfit? Please share your ideas!

Re: Team green check in
For a going home outfit, we'll likely just grab one of the neutral sleep n plays my daughter wore. I'm not sentimental about what baby wears home.
We would have been able to find out at 10wks with the fancy new blood test that's available, and again at the AS at week 21, but decided against it. If DH really can't wait, we might find out at the 32wk ultrasound... but that's two months away.. lol
We kept several gender neutral NB and 0-3 outfits (well, gave them to a cousin but got them back when they found out we were expecting again) and several of them would be perfect for going-home. White/yellow is the sweetest combo for a newborn baby IMO. We used a zip-up sleeper with the first kid and a little yellow hat/scratch mittens. perfect. remember you can't easily use the carseat with the NB gowns, so try to stick with a footed sleeper.
+ 9/3/11, due May 2012. overdue baby born healthy!
+ 8/3/15, natural m/c @ 5wks
+ 1/4/16, due 9/14/16
@PSUBecky23 would it comfort you to know that they do not write the sex on your chart if you are team green? So it's not like you can just ask at your next appointment and they'll be able to check your file.
@KimmySchmidt I am undecided on whether I want two going home outfits or just one gender neutral one. Both of my girls came home in the same Carter's dress and sweater though so who am I kidding? I'm definitely sticking that in the bag in case this is girl #3!

I guess the report also also makes it clear that we don't want to know, despite listing the sex.
As far as clothes, I'm going to buy two outfits. I actually have already picked up a few newborn items that boy and girl specific. Truly, I don't need any girl clothes since I've saved them from my two girls, but I always like getting the baby a few new things.
As for going home outfit, I'm not making a big deal about it this time around. I will probably just dress baby in a cute onesie...last time, it was such a big deal to us and it ended up being ridiculous-looking, big, and totally unnecessary
We took a boys outfit and a girls outfit to the hospital for her and she ended up coming home in the boys outfit in the end because it fit her better, I had listened to everyone saying "don't buy newborn clothes" and she wore them for well over a month so this time I bought both outfits in newborn size as well as a newborn sleeper for a boy and a girl. And as far as names go we have a few girl's names picked out and aren't even close to agreeing on a boys name, AGAIN!
3rd time being team green, with the first two I really enjoyed it. This time it is so hard!! I'm not sure why, I wasn't bothered at all waiting to find out with the other two. It would be nice to find out and not tell anyone until birth but DH can't keep quiet about anything and he doesn't want me finding out without him. So we will remain team green.

As for an outfit for when we leave the hospital, haven't really given it much though, DS wore a ducky outfit, but really he could have just worn home what the hospital put him in. I think this time around, a cute little Carters 3-4 piece outfit on sale at BBB right now, this way we can dress baby accordingly for the weather.
Something like this https://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/carter-39-s-reg-4-piece-jungle-animal-convertible-gown-hat-sock-and-bib-set-in-ivory/3270247?Keyword=carters
As for a take-home outfit, my mom has been trying to get me to pick something and is constantly sending my pic of onesies. I really hadn't thought much about it, though. I guess there will be pictures, but mostly I'm just anticipating all of us being so tired that just being dressed at all will be a victory!
I have to admit, though, I never thought we'd be team green. I started out solidly team find out as soon as possible and definitely badgered a few pregnant friends when they decided they didn't want to find out... whoops. I'm really loving the mystery of it all and just letting baby be baby without any gendered expectations or plans for him or her! I love hearing people's predictions on what they think we're having and what his or her name might be!
I haven't even begun to think about take-home outfits or baby clothes at all. I'm thinking we'll bring a sweet gender neutral sleeper, but I'm not sure not sure yet!
We are Team Green for the second time. DD, who will be 3 in September, insists she's getting a little sister so the potential for disappointment is definitely there. And it's strange - even I catch myself sometimes referring to the baby as a "she" so it's going to be a real mind-trip if baby ends up being a boy!!
I was the one who really wanted to be Team Green with DD - DH went along with it but towards the end felt a little "left out" and wondered if knowing baby's sex would help him start to develop more of a connection. So this time, I left it up to him whether or not we'd find out or be Team Green again. He opted for Team Green and I was thrilled! But, oddly enough, I'm finding it so much harder this time around - I just want to know!! Boy names allude us but we have our girl name set. We're also good to go with girl clothes. So just knowing, once and for all, that this baby is a girl (or not!) would make things so much easier... But I'm stubborn and am going to remain Team Green until the end - even if it's killing me a little on the inside.
I hadn't really thought about a going home outfit yet. With DD, we brought a girl and a boy option so we'll probably do the same this time around... I like the idea of this baby going home in the same sleeper DD did (if we have another girl) so I'll probably bring that and something else.
As far as going home outfits, we had a cute yellow and white newborn outfit picked out for DS2 but he was so long he didn't fit into it! I ended up having DH grab and wash a 3 month outfit we had at home before we went home. I'm not that picky about what baby wears home at this point.
Eta: plus I love the girls names we have picked out and picking a boys name both pregnancies has been virtually impossible!
This is our 4th, 1st time on Team Green. We both wanted to know on the first go round, I didn't want to know the second time, but DH did. When we found out it was twins, he basically made me find out, haha. I told him from the start that I didn't care how many were in there this time, we weren't finding out this time. He's come around & told me how he thinks it's much more exciting now, being Team Green.
I'm planning on taking 2 outfits to the hospital for baby's coming home outfit.

I know it will be fun at the end though (we were team green with our first) so I'm ok with waiting.
I haven't bought much of anything, mostly because we've had two kids already and we have ALL the baby things we need, plus boy and girl clothes. I'm crafting more this time - working on knitting a blanket which will probably take me until August to finish anyway.
We have been calling the baby "Baby M" because the names we agreed on are Miles or Mae.
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
Our A/S went good - we get the results from the doctor at tomorrow's appt. Our little one was cross legged and you couldn't see anything at the ultrasound. The tech said they couldn't tell either, although my DH (who is reluctantly team green) swears that the tech kept referring to the baby as a 'he' during the A/S. I never heard it so I think it's just wishful thinking.
We haven't looked at going home outfits yet, but I think I'll grab one for a girl and one for a boy unless I get 'the' outfit before hand from someone else. After all the white/green/yellow/gray outfits I'm really looking forward to a pink or blue one.
