Best small/umbrella stroller?

We are going to be converting LO into a convertible car seat soon, so we will also need a new stroller.  We currently have the Chicco Keyfit Caddy which works with his car seat, you just plop his seat right onto the frame.  But, with a new car seat this stroller will no longer work, since we will have to transfer him from the seat to a stroller.

We also have the Baby Jogger City Elite which is great for walks, the zoo, parks, etc, but it is much too big and bulky to use for everyday use like running to the store, or in small spaces.

Any recommendations for small strollers you love?  Something with a nice size basket underneath would be nice too!

Thanks!!  :)

  • I've been listing after the GB Pockit but it's wayyyyy out of our price range. We went with the Summer Infant 3D Flip. The whole 3D line is great but I love the flip so I can see him. The storage isn't great because you have to go through a hole in the seat under the rear facing portion but I usually use it for stuff I won't need until we're parked somewhere anyway.

  • We have a Summer 3D lite. It is great for quick trips in and out. I found it on clearance for $30 while I was pregnant. I love that it is taller than a basic umbrella so DH doesn't have trouble pushing it (he's tall). I also like that it reclines. That came in handy this past weekend when DD fell asleep while at a family function. The basket is a good size also.

We bought a Babies R Us Zobo Lightweight Stroller and love it! We needed one to take on a plane and on vacation with us; this one folds up really easy and is really light, but seems much sturdier than the cheaper umbrella strollers. It also has a very large canopy that covers pretty much all of LO if we want it to. It also reclines and has a good sized basket underneath. We used a 15% off coupon when we bought ours, but they also have a sale going on now on strollers with code MAYSTROLLER.
  • I love our GB Qbit, it's so lightweight with a good sized basket, folds one handed and yet it handles really well. It reclines (but not all the way). It's my errand/restaurant stroller. It folds so small we take it to the table.

  • @callistosmile, is it easy to flip the stroller both directions?  Our son has been kind of weird lately in his outward facing big stroller...he'll be fine for about 20 minutes and then starts to cry.  Not sure if it's because he can't see us or what?
  • @callistosmile I want the pockit stroller sooo bad!

I have not yet invested in an umbrella stroller. I should probably do that soon.

  • We have one from babies r us. It has fish printed on it-looks kinda summery. I like it. Works great for what I need it too. I'm not sure about the price because we got it as a gift. It's nice also because it has a ouch attached to the back which holds quite a bit and also has a special spot for a pacifier. Easy to unfold and easy to fold.
  • We got a fold-in-half one from Walmart for $20. We bought it 3 years ago for a trip to Mexico with DS and I planned on leaving it there. It was such good little stroller that I still have it and use it for LO. And it is still in great shape!
  • @lmbrandt I can handle it while I'm holding him but it takes a few times to get the hang of it. Mostly switching the canopy is what's hardest. The seat switch is just flipping the seat back whichever direction you want.

I just bought one like this at Target. It is gray and has a fin and teeth to make it look like a shark! LOL it's so cute. I figured it would be useful when I don't want the massive BOB stroller.
  • I have to second the summer infant 3d lite. The  basket is big, it reclines for her to sleep light and pretty compact

If you have a big baby, cosco ones suck. I had to return the Disney one I got. Little guy was so squished and couldn't move his arms. I got a babies r us brand ones and I like it a lot
