Pregnant after IF

Timing of successful IUI

Good morning. I hope it's okay to post this question here. I normally post on TTGP, but I am looking for some advice on successful IUI timing. I had my first IUI on Saturday, 26 hours after my Ovidrel trigger. I feel like the timing was early, but my RE said it was perfect.

I had 2 follies on CD12, 21mm and 17mm, but a negative OPK that morning, so I was not surging on my own yet. They triggered me at 8:45am and scheduled my IUI for 10am the next day. It ended up being almost 11am by the time they actually did the IUI. My husband's count and motility were great, 175 million and 80% motility, so I feel hopeful with those numbers, but if it was too early then it won't mean anything.

Just wondering for those who had successful IUIs, what was the timing after trigger? Thank you!

My iui that was successful I triggered at 2:30 pm and had iui at 11 am the next day.
I hope this one is successful for you but if not I suggest doing bloodwork to find your surge instead of opks. That's what I did...I didn't want to mess around with opks so if your RE will let you daily bloodwork is way more accurate to find out your surge. GL!

  • I think I was told to trigger 36 hours before my (successful) IUI. However, we were told to have intercourse for several days prior to the IUI, but not on the immediate previous day, then again ON the day of the IUI (afterwards) and the day after.  We probably conceived with the help of the IUI, but it is possible that it was also on our own. More frequency, whether through IUI or intercourse, more chances.

  • I have never triggered with my IUI's...I don't have a problem ovulating (unexplained secondary infertility) my RE wants you to go naturally (if you can). IUI #2 was successful (waiting on beta #2) for this IUI I got inseminated and actually ovulated 6 hours later. Like pp said we have TI two days prior to IUI and the night of IUI.

not sure if any of this helps because I didn't trigger.
