Watermelon

 I gave my twins a piece to suck the juice out of the other day & my husbands grandma told me not to give them watermelon until they're 1 cus its "bad" for them(not that i actually listen to her). Their doc never restricted them from watermelon & they enjoyed it. 

Has anyone else heard that its bad to give a baby watermelon before 1? I think shes full of it, but who knows?.
Has anyone given their LO watermelon yet? If you have how did your LO do with it?

    I give Mila watermelon all the time. She loves it.

    Ava loves watermelon and I give it to her all the time! I just make sure to give it to her after I know she's had a good feed as I don't want her to get too full on watermelon juice to drunk her milk.  Also try cucumber!

    Maybe because of the seeds? I don't know, I haven't heard that. I've given some melon but now watermelon yet. I just haven't picked some up but I told my LO that's the next fruit he gets to try once I go grocery shopping lol I'm excited because it's one of the only things I craved my whole pregnancy, so I hope he loves it

    I literally will give my baby any food that is "whole" with the exception of spicy peppers. LO has had grapefruit and tomatoes which I think are really weird things to give a baby! But she loves tasting things and was actually a big fan of the grapefruit

    @Livvyloo87 yes! I gave them some after dinner for the same reason. & i will have  them try cucumber. 

    @chelseajeanene idk? She just said it was "bad". But whatever lol. & maybe he will. When i was pregnant with DD i hated eggs & to this day(she'll be 6 in August) i cant eat eggs& she doesnt care for it. & i craved chocolate cake all the time with her &  she's loved it ever since she can eat it :smile: 

    @Growingapepper that's what i want to try next, tomato! I want to try to get them to eat different things in the next couple of weeks. We're going to Mexico @ the end of the month & i want to be able to give them a variety of table/finger foods rather than purees.

    It's fine to give watermelon but too much causes diarrhea.  We learned the hard way with DD1.  ;)

    We gave her watermelon in her silicone feeder and she LOVED it. Like totally obsessed! I wouldn't think there is anything in watermelon to make it bad, but I can definitely see how too much could be bad!!!! Lol glad I read that!
