  • 1. I haven't fully fleshed out my bucket list but Playing the bagpipes is definitely on there. 

    2. DH and I had to spend 4 months living apart due to him starting school and me finishing up school and during the time living apart we met halfway between where we were both living and had an amazing weekend together. 

    3. Hmmmm. That's tough. I'm not very good at remembering quotes so I'll go with a song. but I'll also be ridiculous and say more than one favorite. My current favorite song to dance to (i.e. Bob my head to because I am a terrible dancer lol) is the pentatonix cover of cheerleader. My favorite song to reflect on the lyrics at the moment is a hymn called be still my soul, and my favorite song to sing is the entire soundtrack to Rent.

  • 1. What's on your bucket list? 

    So many things involving travel.  I really want to go to Australia and New Zealand.  My parents just went and had the most amazing trip. 

    2 . What's one of your best memories? 

    The moment DS was born and DH asked me, did you hear he's a boy and I just started crying as they handed him to me. (wow, that's not sappy at all)

    3. What's your favorite quote/song? 

    "Ginger Rodgers did everything Fred Astaire did, only backwards and in high heels"

  • 1. flying in a hot air balloon, traveling to many, many places in the world (Turkey, Greece, Peru, and others), learning how to be a better photographer - those are some of the top ones, off the top of my head.

    2. The day I married DH - everything that could go wrong kinda did and the day was somehow still perfect. I'm so not a 'I define myself by my man' type of girl but the best part of my life began the day I married my H.

    3. Favorite quote by far - 'all great truths begin as blasphemies' - George Bernard Shaw. Closely followed by, 'all things in moderation, Including moderation' by Oscar Wilde.

    1. What's on my bucket list?

    Finding the man of my dreams, getting married and starting a family was on my bucket list. Let's put a big ol' check mark beside that! 

    Starting a business is the new goal.

    2 . What's one of your best memories?

    Back in Canada there was this beautiful park by my home. Two actually. One by the lake where my mom and dad would take me on the weekends and have delicious bbqs and one in the gardens where I rode my father's shoulders and cupped tulips in my palms whole absorbing all the delicious scents they gave.

    3. What's your favorite quote/song?

    My favorite quote when the going gets tough is "But this is only temporary." And "Just Breathe, in the present moment only love exits."



  • 1- travel travel travel! I want to see all 50 states and a whole slew of other countries (Pakistan, Egypt, Kenya, Brazil, Slovakia, Russia, Thailand, Peru, etc etc etc) 

    2- I can't pick one favorite! H and I did a road trip from LA to San Fran that had a few pretty fantastic moments, safari in the Serengeti was straight up heart stopping, and buying our current house (first together) was so sweet and nerve wracking and wonderful  <3

    1. Get published in Nature, learn American Sign Language, go on a Mediterranean cruise, and join the Peace Corps. upon retirement. 

    2. "Planned eloping" out to Telluride, CO. We went for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival last June, got married in front of a beautiful, serene mountain lake, then went back to the festival to hear Punch Brothers play! It was 4 days full of amazing music, the train ride there and back was incredible, and it was more fun than I could ever imagine.

  • 1. What's on your bucket list? Travel! I would love to go to another country before I die. Specifically Japan, India, England, and Italy.

    2 . What's one of your best memories? Watching my mom give birth to my little sister! I was 19, so I held onto one of her legs as she pushed her out. Everyone said to be afterwards "I bet you don't want to have a kid now!" But it didn't phase me. Just took 12 years to finally get to this point! Haha.

    3. What's your favorite quote/song? My favorite quote is from To Kill A Mockingbird. Atticus Finch said "It's like you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometime you do."  I got the last part engraved into my husband's wedding band.

    My favorite song is "Tiny Dancer," by Elton John.

  • 1. What's on your bucket list? Traveling to Belgium and drinking all. of. the. beer.

    2 . What's one of your best memories? Our 2-week honeymoon in Rome and Sorrento last April. It was the best thing of my life. I studied ancient Greek and Roman history in college and it was so cool to get to see everything in person.

    3. What's your favorite quote/song? Vincit qui se vincit, which means "he conquers who conquers himself".

  • @TinaBelcher H and I took the trip from LA to San Fran for our honeymoon. It was pretty incredible.

    1. What's on your bucket list? Learning Spanish

    2 . What's one of your best memories? The moment DD was born when they put her on my chest. She locked eyes with me with the cutest, most terrified look on her face that I interpreted as, "WTF is going on!" I'll never forget it. :)

    3. What's your favorite quote/song? Favorite song would be A Pirate Looks at Forty by Jimmy Buffett. It reminds me how quickly time passes and to live in the moment.

    1. What's on your bucket list?

    I think having this kid is it. I spent my twenties as a nomad globe-trotting and living life on the run--it was full of adventures, but it was also fairly lonely and self-alienating at times, so I'm ready to embrace family life (not to say I intend to stop my travels but we're definitely going to have a new travel companion).

    2 . What's one of your best memories?

    I met my OH at SXSW in Austin (I lived there, he didn't). One of my close friends from Croatia was visiting as well as another friend from Houston and I organized a trip to go sky-diving... this probably sounds inane but I was in the process of changing my middle name to Freebird (in memory of a friend who passed away a few years ago) and decided I couldn't give myself a name like that unless I had the spirit that comes with it, so a big part of that was overcoming my fear and jumping out of the plane. Even though I had only known OH for about a week, I invited him to come with us and so we ended up doing it together.

    3. What's your favorite quote/song? There's this Maya Angelou quote that has always resonated with me strongly: 

    “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

    Because I sure can't remember half the things the people I care about most said or did but those emotions, good and bad, sure do stick close to the heart all the same.
  • 1. Bucket List - be a part of Head to the Hill, to meet with congressmen in DC and ask for their support for brain tumor research. This issue is so close to my heart. Also, I need to get overseas again. It's been 10 years but time, money and having a 2yo are big obstacles right now!

    2. Favorite memory-  My trip to NYC when I was 16. I had a poster of NYC hanging in my bedroom when I was a kid and dreamed of visiting. I got the chance to go through a student travel agency and saved my money to pay for it myself. I loved every minute of that trip. 

    3. Favorite song- 7 by Prince. Since his passing last month I've listened to that song more times than I can count.

  • 1. What's on your bucket list?  I want to run a 50 miler.  Maybe even a 100 one day...

    2 . What's one of your best memories?  Our engagement weekend is still one of my favorites - dh proposed on top of a mountain.  Also when he came home from r & r after 9 month of deployment we an amazing two weeks of adventure.  So many fun memories to choose from.

    3. What's your favorite quote/song?  I am lame and can't think of a good answer.  I love the John Muir quote "the mountains are calling and I must go", mostly because it is how I feel a lot of the time.
