Week: 11!!!
What's new with baby (size, development)? A lime. How the hell did it get that big so fast??
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Eating better and trying to increase my activity level
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Starting to feel more like myself. Still exhausted but the nausea has decreased.
Rave: I have been able to find baby with my Doppler at home and it is the most satisfying sound!
Rant: Just heard from my ob's office that DH's test for being a Tay-Sachs carrier were inconclusive so he has to get more blood drawn and we have to wait another week to find out more information.
Rant: Also, I went to the lab Saturday morning to do my GTT and they didn't have my orders so it was a wasted trip. So I had to reschedule it for Friday. Blarg.
When is your next appointment? the 18th so a week from tomorrow.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Not much. I went to a town-wide second-hand sale Saturday and was looking for a few big-ticket baby items, but didn't find anything on my list. Got DD a crapton of clothes the next size up though.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: feeing tired, and in a bit of a fog. Got in a fight with DH last night where I likened for first few weeks of pregnancy to various types of hangovers. So while I'm grateful to be out of the "way too much tequila" stage, I'm ready to be done the "few too many glasses of wine" stage any day now.
When is your next appointment? Thursday for my second blood draw for the sequential screen and a check-in with my OB, hopefully will get to hear baby's heartbeat.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? this isn't happening quite yet but I plan on telling my boss Monday if my Friday appointments go well

ummmm nothing really, besides watching the Daniel Tiger special about him being a big brother with my son last night and getting some maternity clothes this past weekend

June 1st for some kind of blood test, I forgot what they called it...I think it tests for spina bifida and then my regular appt on June 8th

@tatertat313 I have that Daniel the Tiger episode recorded. I'm hoping in 6 months my son will understand more.
When we ask him to say baby it comes out more like cookie.
He is 19th months old. It is still a far off concept! He is going to be super shocked when a baby comes and lives with us!

Baby's proportions are starting to become more normal. Woohoo no more alien looking baby!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? Bought the baby some cute University of Chicago garb. H did his undergrad there.

GTKY: Who was your first celebrity crush (stolen from Monday)? Michael J. Fox.....I was 4 and quite In love. My mother's friend told me he was married and I sobbed in her driveway and refused to come inside. I thought he was going to be my future husband.
13 weeks.
Still not doing much baby-related but told a few friends.
Nausea seems to be getting much better over the last week, though now acidic food is giving me heartburn. Starting to be HUNGRY.
I can't remember my next appointment but it's in the next week or two.
I didn't have a celebrity crush for a long while. Johnny Depp is the first one that came to mind, though I loved looking at Leo and the guy from Cruel Intentions.

Week: 13!! This makes me sooo happy, hello second tri!!
What's new with baby (size, development)? Lemon (that sounds fairly big) her vocal cords are forming!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby? I finally decided how we will announce on facebook and to the family on memorial day wknd and I'm super excited! This morning, I ordered the cutest Big Brother security guard tshirt for my son to wear to announce to fam and take pictures in for the fb announcement.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: We found out its a girl!! Instead of celebrating my parents basically said I'm going to have to "step up" more b/c hubby can't do as much for a girl. What??! I do a lot for my son so I have not idea where this is coming from but first I was really hurt and then I was offended. Now I'm just like whatever, ya'll are rude.
When is your next appointment? Next Tuesday! can't wait, its an ultrasound.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Feeling good, but out of breath a lot. I just found out yesterday that with twins they start looking at anatomy around 15 weeks instead of 20 so I should be able to find out in the next few weeks what we have in here!
When is your next appointment? I had one on Monday and another yesterday. My next one isn't until June 2nd.

@Chcaggie1 That was a strange response to having a girl.
Insulting to you for sure - I'm sure you do a marvelous job caring for your son. But also insulting to your H- I'm sure he is perfectly capable of attending to the needs of a little girl - and an older girl and young woman. I hate when people say sexist stuff like this.
Sorry for the rant but man that pushed my buttons.
So embarrassing story. I started my period at 11 and was super embarrassed about it for a long time. One night I needed some pads but it was late so my dad drove me to the closest quick stop and told me to pick out what I wanted. Well I was super used to the large variety at Walmart and couldn't find the ones I liked (I always used the thinnest ones possible). So I just grabbed another kind but when I got home I threw the biggest fit because the pad was so bulky and uncomfortable. So my dad (since it was late) made a small rip in the side and modified it for me. That got me through the night and we went to Walmart in the morning!
Long story short, dads can handle some shit!
Pretty sure my mom was offering me her tampax as a solution~I was 13 and I tried it and it didn't work!! Dad to the rescue!
But seriously, those pads were enormous and not meant for a pre-teen!
