Upcoming appointments? not until the anatomy ultrasound on May 27
Rants/Raves/Questions: I am still hoping to feel baby soon. I may or may not have felt something, but I want to be sure. I've been saying that since week 16.
GTKY: What's your earliest vivid memory? When I was 2 and my parents brought my brother home from the hospital. He was actually home before they got me from my godparents, and he was asleep and I couldn't find him! I could barely see into the crib and was so confused. But I didn't want to ask my parents, so I just kept trying to see a baby in there somewhere. Eventually he started crying - they had put him in the middle of their bed (which I couldn't see onto).
The moral of that story is that even if the baby is sleeping, show the older siblings where it is
Upcoming appointments? My anatomy scan is on the 27th. We're having a gender reveal party so we will find out if we are having a sweet little boy or girl in front of all of our friends and family on the 29th.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Did anyone else have a gender reveal party? I am concerned with seeing if baby is a boy or girl during the anatomy scan because I really want to keep it a surprise. Has anyone else gone through this? Were you able to not see the baby's goods during the anatomy scan so that it remained a surprise?
GTKY: What's your earliest vivid memory? I have several vivid memories from kindergarten but before that I can't remember much.
Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan is also the 27th!
Rants/Raves/Questions: I currently hate wearing pants
GTKY: What's your earliest vivid memory? I was about 2 and on the swing set eating a homemade OJ Popsicle looking up the hill at my parents house. Weird.
I have no experience, but my cousin had one and was surprised. I have heard that you just warn the ultrasound tech you don't want to know, and people have said they couldn't tell what was being shown on the screen anyway.
How many weeks are you? I'm a day late on this, but I was 19 weeks yesterday.
How big is baby? Mango!
Upcoming appointments? I just had my anatomy scan today. It went really well! I have a thing about baby feet and got a little teared up when she showed us the picture of the feet. That made my husband get a little teary-eyed as well, which was sweet
Also, @kamroberts - we are team green and we just told the ultrasound tech at the beginning of the appointment. She made us turn away from the screen every time she got near that area on the baby and was a total pro about using gender neutral pronouns the whole time.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant! We stopped into my husband's office right after the anatomy scan today because it's close and I love most of the people he works with. HOWEVER, one of his co-workers had the following conversation with me:
Me: The baby weighs 10 ounces!! Her: Yeah, and how much weight have you gained?
I was PISSED and it was just awkward for everyone. The thing is, I don't feel the least bit self conscious about what I have gained. I eat pretty well, with some exceptions, and work out 6 days a week. Plus I'm growing a human and my weight is no one's damn business.
GTKY: What's your earliest vivid memory? That's such a good question! I think my first memory is meeting my dog when I was about 4. My mom's friend brought her over to see if we wanted to adopt her. She was just a little ball of black fur and it was snowy outside.
Re: Thursday Ticker Change May 12
