Late period, negative pregnancy test?

Curious if anyone has any ideas what might be going on.

I have ALWAYS had a very regular period, even after LO was born I got my period back the day of my 6 week postpartum appointment and have had it every month like clockwork since just like I did before LO was born. It's regular to the point I know what day it's supposed to start. Occasionally I've had it start a day late but other than that the only other time I've missed a period is when I found out I was pregnant with LO.

As of today my period is 3 days late. I took 2 different pregnancy tests, Neither showed even a faint line. I remember getting a bfp with LO days before my actual period was supposed to start. I'm really confused at this point. Could I be pregnant but getting negatives still? I'm not under any new stress or anything like that, nothing has changed really. I have no idea why I'd not have started by now if I'm not pregnant.

Re: Late period, negative pregnancy test?

  • You may just have ovulated late.  I know you say you're really regular but it isn't unusual to have a wonky cycle even if you're usually able to predict down to the day.  I would wait a few days and if it doesn't show up, test again.

I would wait at least a week to take a test, if you are it may be too soon to show up on test now. I got 5 negative test the week before I found out I was pregnant
  • I have always had a super regular period too and it came back like clockwork for a few months pp, but my last 3 cycles it's been a few days late. I think it's just our bodies getting back to normal.  I would test in a week if it hasn't shown up just to be safe. Or you could have a blood test done at your Dr's to know for sure
  • I agree with PP.  Wait a week and test again.  I was 8 weeks pregnant with DD2 and still getting negative tests before I went to the dr for bloodwork.  Not to scare you.

Probably just late this month (unless you're trying and then maybe it's not registering).
