We have the Graco Milestone for our daughter. It's one of those that are supposed to last forever so you don't have to buy a booster and all down the road. It fits nicely in our suv but it's a little tight in my sedan. She sits behind me and my seat has to be up pretty far for there to be enough room.
We bought the graco forever. It's also supposed to convert and be the last one you need to buy. So far so good. She's really comfortable in it, we drove from MA to SC in it. We had it inspected beforehand and the tech said its one of her faves.
We have a safety first alpha omega elite air. It's a great seat and looks super comfortable for her (also a 3 in 1, so it converts to a booster seat years from now) but I have to mention that it takes up SO MUCH space (when rear facing) in the back seat of our Jetta. Our seats needed to be pushed forward cutting down our leg space up front and her seat is in the middle of the back seat. I had no idea until after we bought it and installed it. I'm trading my Jetta in for a minivan at the end of summer though so I guess it's not a huge deal!
My advice is that when you buy the convertible seat, it would be a good idea to find a store that allows you to test the car seats that you like inside your car before purchasing
^we switched over at 7 months. I would've done it sooner but it took me awhile to find a seat I liked. LO seems much more comfortable in the convertible than the bucket seat
We switched over right before 6 months. Our LO is pretty big and it was getting to be a pain in the butt to carry the seat around. And we were going on a long road trip and I wanted her in her new one for that. I asked my pediatrician and she said around 6 months is good
What is everybody buying? We have a truck with a smaller backseat and I'm hoping to find something that doesn't make one of us hug the dash! I've read good things about the diono radian.... Any experience?
