Coke

As bad as it is for me, it's the only thing that cures my indigestion and settles my stomach. It's pretty much my magic serum. Anyone else?

I definitely agree. DF thinks it's all in my head. I try to only drink it occasionally though.

Pre-pregnancy I drank entirely too much Soda... So now, I drink one a day to ward off the migraines I get if I dont. My OB actually told me to do it, because the lack of caffeine is what causes my migraines.

Coke has actually tasted so good to me lately and I'm normally a Dr. Pepper kinda girl.

I did start trying to drink kombucha instead to help break up the indigestion though, because I will get in the pattern of having a soda daily if I'm not careful

I don't normally drink soda, however through the worst 2-3 weeks of it I was downing 1-3 cans of initially gingerale then switched to coke. I was trying to stay away from the caffeine, but I couldn't do gingerale anymore and coke worked. I haven't needed one in a few days now. Thank goodness lol

Well, as long as you don't mean cocaine...
Glad I'm not the only one who's mind went there

I rarely drink pop of any sort...like less than 10x in the past year. I have had Sprite a few times since finding out I was KTFU and that seems to agree with me. I'm avoiding caffeine as much as possible.

I very rarely drink regular soda but have been having 1-2 ginger ales a day. Not ideal, but hopefully can do better 2nd trimester.

I don't like sweet drinks (syrup in coffee, soda, sweet tea) but last baby and this one I am allllll about the CocaCola. I limit it to a couple times a week at most, but a Coke slurpee/ICEE is just heaven to me.

I only steal DH's fountain drinks (usually coke). Doesn't count if it isn't really mine, right?

I was a mega caffeine addict before we started the IVF. I mean like, 8-10 cups a day sometimes, plus or minus caffeinated pop as well. My heart is literally palpitating at the very thought of that right now. I'm down to a small from Tim Hortons a few times a week, and the odd caffeinated soda now. Home brewed is still tasting weird to me, hence the purchases. I've been leaning more on teas lately. Still trying to cut back just a bit further though, as I know I had gone off the deep end with caffeine consumption.

Sometimes the caffeine and the bubbles made my nauseousness better, other times it made it worse. I did have like the first two weeks of Lent that I couldn't stomach coffee at all which was good. And a good way to hide from cooworkers why I wasn't drinking coffee. Aha.

I believe "coke syrup" has been a go-to for tummy troubles for a long time. Even after they took the cocaine out of it. I think it's just the right combination of sugar and other stuff to calm things down for a lot of people. It doesn't work for me, but I know a TON of people feel better after drinking a bit.

Regular Coke is what's been working for me for extreme nausea and headaches too, wishing I had one right now actually...and I'm not normally a soda drinker at all

Yes! My DH thinks I'm nuts and just want an excuse to drink soda (I had stopped drinking it for the most part prepregnancy) but it is the only thing that helps the nausea some days! glad im not alone

I'm not a big soda drinker but after I've spent the day barfing and take my medicine for the last time in the evening and am dying to eat some dinner or something I've had a coke here and there and it's actually helped a LOT. I doubt it would always work but I don't feel too bad for drinking it. I've drank 2 since I was pregnant and both times it was an immense relief.

I had no idea that drinking Coke was a popular remedy until this post. I tried it one afternoon when I was feeling particularly bad and BAM no more nausea! Thank You!!!! I now just take a little sip every once in a while all afternoon and it has helped immensely!

coke was my guilty pleasure last pregnancy and it hasn't been as tempting this one but it still sometimes hits the spot just right! I never drink any other, just coke. it's delish.

12 years ago when pregnant with my first, my doctor's only advice for morning sickness was to take a drink of coke. He was so old school and I miss him.

So somewhat off topic but my father exclusively drinks coke and soda. I mean the man drinks no water. He is in his late 70s and healthy as can be. I think we're good.

Good I'm glad I started this post! Coke has always helped me even before I got pregnant. Never been one to depend on medications for every little ache and pain. I'd much rather drink coke than take some pill that could hurt my baby.

I have to have my daily Coke to ward off the nausea. I don't remember the nausea being so bad last time!

Since posting this I spoke to a few of my nurses and they've told me they hear that ALOT about the coke. So none of us are crazy. They encouraged me to drink it if it helps too, so I now have cans in the fridge!

I have graduated to a daily Coke now too, but to prevent headaches!
