So much discomfort on left side

Hey Ladies,

Looking for a little advice on wether or not I should be freaking out. I'll be 7 weeks along in 2 days. I don't have my first appointment until next week. The past two days I've experienced a lot of discomfort in my left abdomen area. Sometimes just near the pelvic/ovary area but most of all just all over the left side. Is that normal? Kind of just feels more bloated and is not really painful but just uncomfortable. Anyone else feel like this? Or should I call the Dr.?

  • I think if it were me I would put a call in to the doc. It could be nothing or it could be something - I'd get a call in to see if I could get checked out just to put my mind at ease.

  • If you're uneasy, definitely call the doctor. That's what they get paid for! But it is probably RLP. I seemed to have some more pains on my left side as well. When we had our first appt, he found a cyst on my left ovary, and also baby was more to the left side. I don't know if that had anything to do with the extra tugging, but I'm assuming it's quite normal! Every pain can be scary, but 99% of the time, it's just the wonderful world of pregnancy aches.  <3
  • Call your doctor.  I had this with my first pregnancy and it was ectopic (but I was also having spotting).  I had it with this pregnancy and they told me it was the corpus luteum and I had ovulated on the left.
  • I had this happen at about 5 weeks and I was extremely nervous I was having an ectopic. Turns out that my ovary was enlarged from producing extra follicles and that my babies are safely nestled in my uterus. I still get small pangs on either side a a couple weeks later. Good luck!
  • Call the doc for extra reassurance and to discuss details of your symptoms. However I too had this from about 5ish weeks until about where you are in the 7 weeks-8 weeks range. Could just be RLP, sometimes I suspected gas! So much is going on in there right now that it could be a slew of things. :)
