https://wric.com/2016/05/10/study-links-swaddling-to-heightened-risk-of-sids/This is the second time I've seen this on my Facebook today. I haven't had an infant for 8 years so I've been reading up on anything new since then. So swaddle but don't put them on their side when swaddling, I mean we knew back to sleep was best anyway correct???
Re: Swaddling in the news
so yeah, then back sleep (duh) and don't swaddle rolling babies, get a sleep sack so their arms are free. all common sense stuff (to me anyway)

I can maybe see how someone who isn't very educated on safe sleep might need to be told not to put a swaddled baby on their side.

Anyway, just sharing this because it's not always up to the parents if baby sleeps on his/her back, even before they are rolling.
That having been said -- I am a stomach sleeper. Always have been. And both ultrasounds last week showed baby very happily flopped face down, kicking and squirming away. So getting this kid to sleep on his/her back may be an adventure.

Also, DS was like yours @cd92007 in that he couldn't roll all the way, but almost immediately could roll to the side and there's nothing anyone could say or do about it. As soon as he could roll all the way, he's been a stomach sleeper ever since. I've always been a stomach sleeper too (last time until about 32 weeks) and thankfully he's taken after me in the sleep department. I very much hope this LO will too (H sleeps like crap and always has).
However I should add that DS never tolerated a swaddle, so we just had to deal with the BS moro reflex until it passed. We tried pretty much everything BUT the woombie and merlin's sleepsuit, which I'm sure are probably the only ones that work. I guess we have another chance now!
DD liked having her arms out from infancy. She'd break out of a basic blanket swaddle, so we used a lot of sleep sacks. Those things were like magic! She was such a snuggly little burrito.
