I'm Crazy - Movement???

I promise I'm a sane, normal person. I'm a nurse, actually, I should totally know this isn't possible, but I swear that I just felt something (more specifically, the baby, duh!) move! I'm only 11 weeks, this is much too early, right??? It's probably gas, but holy moly it felt like movement from last time. Now I'm gonna obsess over every little feeing in my gut until I convince myself I'm not totally crazy.

Re: I'm Crazy - Movement???

  • I have friends that have felt movement at 13 weeks. And one even saw corresponding movement when she had her NT scan done. I'm not sure if 11 is possible or not, but it's not totally outside of the realm of possibility. Exciting!

  • I read that at 10 weeks the baby starts hiccuping and while FTMs might not notice it STMs kind of know what to look for, so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

  • I felt flutters at 14 weeks with my second and I thought that was hella early. I've never heard of it this early.

  • So I've actually thought this too.... I felt flutters twice. Last pregnancy I was sure what I was feeling wasn't movement until I realized it was. The flutters may have been gas or something else but maybe not!
  • Haha I'm right there with you! I've felt it a few times and said to DH, "I swear I can feel this kid moving around in there!" If this wasn't my second pregnancy, I don't think I would think anything of it, but since I've felt baby movement before and know what it feels like it's freaking me out. I agree though, it's probably just gas and we are being crazy  :p
  • I've felt my LO moving around a couple of times now! With DS I didn't feel anything until 21 weeks because I didn't know what to expect but this time I know that it's definitely baby. Gas feels different than baby to me.
  • At my 12 week appointment yesterday, they asked if I'd felt the baby move yet. I'm a FTM, so my response was, "Not that I'm aware of." Some women must be able to feel it early enough that they ask at 12 weeks

  • My midwife said since this is my 3rd it is very likely I will feel flutters as early as 13 weeks. I haven't yet or maybe I am too busy to notice.
  • I felt my first at 13 weeks and this one at 12 weeks...it's a very distinct feeling once you do feel it and know what you're looking for, but it's not consistent or every day...I think I started feeling consistent movement more toward like 15-16 weeks last time
  • I'm 13+2 and have been feeling movement for a few weeks. Not so much kicks, but full body movement, like he's moving from one side to the other, or coming closer to the "surface"...

  • I swear I felt movement the other night. I know what gas feels like and this was different. As soon as I felt it I sat up quick and pushed in on where I felt it at and It felt like a tiny fish flopping around. Maybe I'm crazy too.

I felt movement at 15 weeks with my first and have been feeling flutters this time since about week 12. It's a very distinct feeling, especially if it's not your first. Everyone's bodies are different and only you know what feels normal or different.

Eh, who really knows.  Just enjoy your LO saying "hi".  I can't wait for that!  And I have no idea what it feels like so if it's just gas I'm ok with that too.  Maybe my Little Man has gas too

Exact same way for me. 15w with my son, 12w this time around. I have had a posterior placenta both times so that is why, according to my OB. There's no"pillow" for him to punch through. I absolutely adore being caught unaware. I stop everything and close my eyes and focus really hard on where the movement is. Cutting off one sense enhances your others.

I'm so happy for you ladies. That feeling is such a gift. I would feel phantom baby kicks after my son was born and it's very emotional. I told my Mom that once, she surprised me by telling me she still gets them every great once in awhile. She had 5 kids!
  • I'm positive I can feel movement! 12 weeks 6 days. When the midwife was searching for the heartbeat yesterday, I could feel baby moving away from her and was able to tell her where baby was...she found the heartbeat immediately after I told her where I felt movement. So now I'm sure it's not just gas!

Yes! Those phantom kicks were so bitter sweet! I've definitely missed this feeling
  • Now I wonder if the "muscle spasms" I felt were something....??
  • My mom told me that I'm crazy that I thought I was feeling movement already. Today I'm sure it was movement. Not kicks or anything but rolling around. Feels kind of weird but kind of cool. Can't wait til it's bigger movements that hubby can feel.
  • I am 11 weeks second pregnancy and  I have been feeling flutters for a few days now. Before I was 15 weeks before I felt them.
