Just in the past couple days, I'm 25w 3d, I have noticed my hands getting tingly and kind of falling asleep quit often. Is anyone else dealing with this?
I believe tingling if that variety can be an early sign of carpal tunnel syndrome, which pregnant women are more prone to because of the relaxin in our systems loosening up joints and fluid build up/ swelling/edema that starts around week 26.
I have found my hands are more prone to falling asleep while I am sleeping on my side as well.
Like others have said I'm having this problem too. The worst is when my butt goes to sleep and gets all tingly after only a few minutes of sitting. That's rough with a desk job.
I had this with my first pregnancy and it has begun again with this one. I was diagnosed with "de quervains tenosynosis", which is apparently what all we preggos think is carpal tunnel. Chiropractic adjustments on my wrists have helped a lot, but once this baby is born, if it doesn't go away fully, I will go for a cortisone shot, which from what I'm told and have read is the best and most effective treatment.
Same thing over here! I feel like I have to do the hokey pokey every few hours to shake my hands out and get some feeling back. Super annoying. Sometimes it goes all the way up my arm, especially at night.
Have you tried wrist splints? They haven't taken the problem away completely, but have lessened it somewhat (I only wear them at night).
Something weird I have noticed is if I sleep on my left side, my right hand/arm falls asleep. That's SO weird because I would think my left hand/arm would fall asleep. I put no pressure on my right arm when I sleep on my left side! This happen to anyone else?
It can also be low levels of vitamin b-12. I haven't had it happen during pregnancy, but when I was younger I had a big issue with my hands going numb all the time (my mom always thought it was diabetes). But finally figured out I was Vitamin B-12 deficient. Got my levels fixed and it stopped happening in a major way. But honestly, I can tell when my levels get low because I start to feel the tingling in my fingers (especially when I exercise) But after a few vitamins back to normal.

So far, no symptoms like that with this pregnancy.
