How did last week go? Good - trying to keep up my running mileage because I have a trail Ragnar in early June. Ran about 26 miles last week which was tough due to the fatigue!
What are your goals for next week? Run 25-30 miles for the week, mostly trail. ST or a class x 2. I did ST today so I get to check one off the list.
Diet goals? Drink more water! Increase fruits and veggies.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc? So tired! Also some cramping sometimes with certain exercises.
A little background for me: I didn't really eat vegetables until 3 years ago (I am really not exaggerating) and I wasn't particularly active until about 2 years ago when I started doing the couch 2 5k training program. I did complete the program and have run a couple of 5Ks but I always fall off the wagon after a few months. Then I redo the program and fall off again after a few months. I got a Fitbit in June and I have been pretty good at getting 10,000 steps each day as long as it's on (when I take it off I immediately become a sloth lol).
Because a healthy diet and regular excercise are something I have struggled with my whole life, my goals for the pregnancy really are just to gain a healthy amount of weight and try to gain some core strength and flexibility to help with labor and delivery. So with that said I think I am going to start out with goals that are almost pathetically small to increase my chances of meeting them so I don't get discouraged and give up.
How did last week go?
I spent this this weekend loafing about at a lake house with friends and basically had no physical activity. I did try to be healthy with my food portions and avoid a lot of sugar.
What are your goals for next week?
Take a 30 minute walk in the morning and evening.
Diet goals?
Eat at at least 1 vegetable and fruit per day. Avoid non-whole wheat breads. Drink water.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc?
my boobs have dramatically increased in size and I am yawning a lot.
How did last week go? Did great at working out every other day. Right now my focus is on Yoga, strength training and ab work (still continuing to strengthen and improve early on this pregnancy. Finally getting strength back after my 2nd pregnancy!)
What are your goals for next week? Goals are to continue yoga every other day for an hour, lots of planks, walking with the kids every other day for an hour.
Diet goals? Just hoping to keep it healthy. So far this PG has been different from my others and I don't feel as sick, although it is still very early and that could change any day. Eating lots of vegetable soup and craving Caesar salads currently.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc? Nothing too major yet. Random moodiness, occasional fatigue.
Really well. It was my last week officially losing weight and I got back down to my wedding weight (I got married in November and I've been yo-yo-ing since then.
What are your goals for next week? Continue getting my 10,000 plus steps and walking a lot since I didn't have an exercise routine prior to pregnancy.
Diet goals? Keep eating the same types of healthy foods I've been eating but adjusting to maintain my weight rather than to lose weight.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc?
I feel like my whole life I've been either losing or gaining weight. I'm already plus size, so my fear is gaining too much weight during this pregnancy because I don't know 'how' to maintain well.
How did last week go? I have severely cut back my exercise this go around. TW - Since my previous pregnancy ended in loss, I'm overly cautious this time. Prior to the BFP, I weight-lifted 4 days a week, with 6 days of cardio (30-60 min) and a day off. Last week, I gave myself a week off of the hard stuff, and just focused on getting exercise in. I did fail miserably at eating last week. H and I had some overdue dinner dates with friends that all seemed to catch up with us in a single week. I hated it, but it was nice not having to cook much.
What are your goals for next week? At least one 30 min walk a day for now. I get to go to the OB on 5/16, so hopefully everything will look great, and I can pick back up with lighter weights/higher reps and cardio.
Diet goals? Fresh fruits and veggies as the main components of my meals, ensure fibrous carbs, and healthy sources of protein. I will totally forgive myself for a sweet cheat.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc? I'm really, really tired and moody, boobs are killers, and minor nausea. The usual...
How did last week go? Last week went OK, but I didn't get a chance to start up on prenatal yoga which I really want to do. Just took the dogs for 45 minute walks a few times and went shopping over the weekend (that totally counts, right?).
What are your goals for next week? To go on at least 5 30-60 minute walks and do at least 3 prenatal yoga sessions. My main goal, though, is to get DH to do the yoga with me I was doing a lot of regular weight lifting and HIIT before my BFP but
have decided to just play it safe and keep everything a bit more low
key.
Diet goals? Drinking as much water as I can and making sure to incorporate enough fruits into my diet. I was always such a fruit fanatic before this pregnancy and now I don't have any real desire for it. Instead I've been wanting to eat a lot of veggies (I don't even know who I am anymore!). Hoping that changes soon!
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc? I was always one of those people that could easily skip a lunch if work got too busy, or needed to wait until 10am to have breakfast because I just wasn't hungry. That has completely changed! I feel hungry almost all of the time and have found that eating smaller amounts frequently really helps. The fatigue is for reals though...
How did last week go? Pretty good. I only got one run in due to weather but was able to do 4 strength workouts. Fatigue hit mid-run though so that kind of sucked.
What are your goals for next week? Get 4 strength workouts in and two runs. Try to do more miles but at a slower pace so I don't get too tired.
Diet goals? Drink lots of water! Trying to make sure I have fruits, veggies and protein-packed snacks instead of crappy stuff.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc? Definitely feeling the fatigue. So far no MS, but I'm worried it will eventually hit and I won't be able to workout. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
How did last week go? Last week it was 2 days of cardio and 1 day of strength training. The week before was all 5 days of strength training and 2 days of cardio. With 6 days of 1 hr morning walks.
What are your goals for next week?
Getting back to my regular schedule.
Diet goals?
I subtly became a junk food vegetarian. So my hopes are eating more fruits and veggies with quinoa and nuts.
Symptoms/changes/fears/etc?
I'm scared of doing abdominal workouts. Anyone else have this fear?
@cjs260 I have heard a few people mention cutting back on exercise after a loss. Is this something the doctor recommends? Do they think that heavy exercise is a contributor to MC? I am just asking because I have never really cut back but wonder if I should. I haven't read much about the connection but have seen it mentioned before.
@Trmama2016 No, it doesn't. The vast majority of MC are caused by chromosomal abnormalities that nothing at all can be done about, as was the case with my loss which was a blighted ovum. However, workouts can cause cervical bleeding (just like sex can) because the cervix has a ton of newly grown vasculature that can be disturbed pretty easily. I think I am mainly scarred because the first sign that my previous pregnancy was not going correctly (a light pink bleed) happened right after a particularly intense workout, and I naively blamed it on the workout.
My OB did say previously that exercise was great unless you are on pelvic rest, but try to keep your heart rate around 130 bpm and don't let it get above 140 bpm.
Way to go ladies! I see great activity, good job! I can't wait to join you with real info and workouts!
I'm skipping the questions for now, MS has me so sick I'm not able to move much some days, my eating is garbage and too little and I'm having a hard time staying hydrated. I did take my pups for walks a few days last week and will try to do it more often but even that's kind of difficult. Cool! 1.5 weeks of ms down, probably 10 to go ::eyeroll at myself so hard::
