What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Midwife app't tomorrow

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Positive vibes to all!  Someone told me I looked "big" for 24 weeks the other day and now I feel super self-conscious!  I thought I looked pretty average, but I guess not.. :P

    Questions?

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? Cereal and the crusts of DD's raisin bread

  • Weeks: 28 today!!!!!!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Dr appt this week, just excited to see the nurses and Dr. Love my OBGYN!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: so excited to be in the 3rd trimester! In disbelief how far along I am already. This pregnancy has flown by!

Questions? Anyone else unable to shave at this point? I'm considering a bikini wax.

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? At work we have a giant cafeteria most days I get a bowl of oatmeal, two sausage links and a piece of toast. I'm loving my breakfast time!
  • @jacmkelley Hurray for reaching 3rd tri!!  Must feel awesome!

I've been considering getting my bikini area sugared-- apparently it is way less painful than waxing.  It is getting a little hard to reach/see what I'm doing down there, that's for sure.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Appointment and glucose test next Monday.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Just happy to be getting closer to 3rd trimester. Hooray!

    Questions?

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days?
Usually cereal. Or whatever else I can shove in my face.

@Fremdschamen I've given the maternity belt a week. It seems to help with really stressful activities but it's not very comfy. Also, I won't wear it in public since I didn't get the more expensive ones that don't show.
  • Weeks: 27w3d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I don't know if "looking forward to" is the way to put it, but I have my glucose test tomorrow morning, so there's that!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: The Director of one of the departments I work with (who has 2 pregnant employees right now) jokingly referred to maternity leave as "vacation" today. He was 100% joking (I'm pretty sure, anyway) but it made me wonder how many people out there actually think it's just like a sabbatical.

    Questions?

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? My go-to is usually cereal (frosted mini wheats or raisin bran crunch) or oatmeal. I also really like hard-boiled eggs, and the occasional French Toast or cornbread pancakes. Yeah, I love carbs. lol

  • @ashleybaker712 Thanks for the report!  I ordered one this weekend so I guess we'll see if it helps!  If I overexert myself I pay for it the next day! :(

  • Weeks: 25!

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Just had an appointment and glucose check on Friday. Next appt is May 31 and we will get a peek at baby to make sure he is growing okay. Glad to have reached viability, and looking forward to hopefully getting good news on my glucose test.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
DS is three today! (sniffle) We had a huge party this weekend for him and I'm still wiped out.

    Questions?

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days?
We have been making a lot of smoothies lately.

    26w5d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Starting my every two weeks OB appointments in two weeks. Will do the GD test and Tdap booster at that appointment. Sort of actually looking forward to having those done.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
We got our crib and dresser/changing table set up this weekend! The two art prints I ordered also arrived. It feels great to have a few things together. Also my mom is coming for a long weekend on Thursday so that's exciting, hopefully it will be a fun visit.

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days?
My usual for at least the last year. A piece of toast with jam or honey and peanut or almond butter. I love the Dave's Killer Bread Good Seed--it's awesome. Thinking of adding some kefir for added protein and probiotics.

      BabyFruit Ticker Daisypath Anniversary tickers
  • @lgem4 I'm glad Mother's Day was peaceful for you, and that your LO was active to give you some extra comfort!

@bananers Happy Birthday to your DS!

    Weeks: 26w2d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I had my regular check up today. I go back in 2 weeks for my glucose test, and then it will be every other week from then on!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: LO is right up by my ribcage now, and it's making sitting for hour long sessions really challenging. The angle of my chair squishes my belly in a way that is uncomfortable, so I may have to swap it for a different one for a little while.

    Questions? No

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? On the days I work, whatever I can grab quickly - a cheese stick and piece of fruit, or a bar. On the days I'm home, either eggs or toast with almond butter.

  • 26 weeks

For breakfast I'm wanting waffles and French toast and bacon. But also trying to have smoothies with some added protein.

  • @Fremdschamen I had a random stranger notice I was pregnant at 21 weeks a few weeks ago. She asked when I was due and when I told her she said I was so big she thought I was in the third trimester. I felt really self conscious after that! Now after seeing more HDBD pictures and looking at bump pictures online, I think I look pretty normal for how far along I am. I'm sure you do too!

@jacmkelley I've been having a lot of trouble trying to shave for a couple weeks now. I was going to ask DH to help me, but he was a little weirded out by that. I'm not sure what I'm going to do! I tried shaving a couple days ago without looking and it didn't work out so well...

    Weeks: 26

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have an appointment in two weeks where I'll have my glucose test and an ultrasound to remeasure LO's kidneys after the AS. I can't wait to see her!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Even though I'm still incredibly anxious about all the things that can go wrong, I'm getting slightly calmer with each passing week. I keep reading the statistics of survival rates and chances of disability if the baby is born each week and it just keeps getting better and better! I know I shouldn't even be thinking about that since I'm not at a particular risk of premature birth, but for some reason that fear is there. But I'm feeling tons of movement (and seeing it too) and I'm only two weeks away from the third trimester! She'll be here before I know it.

Questions? I've been reading on here where a lot of people are talking about the TDAP shot, which I want, but my OB has never mentioned it. Should I schedule that with my doctor at the next appointment or will it be too late? I also want DH to get it since it's been awhile since he's had his. I need to figure out how to get that for him too.

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? Since I have a weird schedule (3 p.m. to midnight or 1 a.m. some days) I actually don't eat breakfast. I wake up around 11 a.m. and usually just immediately eat lunch.
  • @JournoGrl23 I'm the same way regarding premature labor. I'm at no risk that I know of, but it's like once I clear one danger, my mind moves onto the next.

Regarding TDAP, it's never too late. You could get it after your baby is born, but the advantage to doing it while pregnant is that you pass along some antibodies to the baby. But if you BF, you'll pass along some in your milk too (though I think it's not as much as it would be in utero).

    Just keep swimming.
  • @JournoGrl23 I'm getting mine at my next appt at 28 weeks, so you definitely aren't too late.

  • @bananers My mind is always moving on to the next danger as soon as I clear one too. I can never seem to relax and just enjoy each milestone in the pregnancy.

Thank you for the TDAP information! I'll ask my OB in two weeks if I can go ahead and get it. If she doesn't do them in her office, then I'll go to my GP for one. That's probably where DH would have to go to get one anyway.

lgem4 I am happy that you had a nice day and it went better than expected.

    Weeks: 24w4d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I am looking forward to getting my glucose done at my next appointment.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: After 10 straight days of rain and clouds, it is absolutely beautiful in the North East.  It feels great to feel the sun.

Questions?  Did anyone read the story on SIDS and swaddling?  I can't imagine having not swaddling our DD.  I definitely need to talk to my doc about this one.

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? I am a creature of habit. I eat the same thing everyday: Cheerios + Raisin Bran + Almond Milk + 1/2 banana

  • @Katienu I'm in the northeast too, and this weather is amazing! I feel like everyone was in such a foul mood last week (including me).

  • @Katienu I read that article last night. I'm a FTM but I thought you were supposed to swaddle babies. Just another thing to worry about.
  • I read that too!  DD only liked being swaddled under her arms, so it doesn't change my plans too much.  I've also read that tight swaddling can cause hip dysplasia.

  • Weeks: 28

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): hooray third trimester! Next appointment in 2 weeks. Starting to count kicks.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: feeling overwhelmed lately.

    Questions?

GTKY:  What's for breakfast these days? eggs, eggs, eggs. The GD diet means no milk products or fruit first thing in the morning. :( so I can't have my preferred plain yogurt and fruit.
