I sat outside by myself in the sunshine yesterday and read a book for a whole hour (during DD's nap). Usually, DH wants to watch a movie or something during naptime but it was just too nice out yesterday so we sat outside and had lunch and then I read while he installed a baby swing (so DD can go, "high in the sky" without the risk of falling off) on our swingset. I haven't "allowed" myself the time to read, other than while working out, in ages...so this was a HUGE treat especially coupled with the beautiful weather.
My dad stopped over and helped us hang a bunch of things around the house. I bought new curtains for our dining room and they've just been sitting in my closet, pressed and ready to be hung. I was so happy to have them finally put up. It makes the room look finished. I also had some other wall art to hang, so he volunteered to take care of that, too.
I also managed to throw a small birthday party for my husband on Saturday. My four year old is a mini party planner and decided months ago that she wanted to throw him a Star Wars birthday. We got some decorations, made a cake that looked like Chewbacca (I think) and had some great BBQ. Both my daughter and my husband were thrilled, so that made me happy.
I finally got my office cleaned out to turn it into a nursery!! Now, just waiting on my curtains to come in so I can decide on a wall color. Thats the most productive I've been since I got pregnant...
DH isn't always the best at housework but together we cleaned the entire garage! Killed a million spiders, made a big donation pile, swept the floor, it felt grrrrreat!
I spent Saturday cleaning our house from top to bottom! With DH's help we moved the spare bed into the office and so now officially have a nursery with only baby stuff in it so far! Still along way to go in decorating it but getting the bed out was huge!
Even though it was a short weekend for me (2 instead of 3 days) I was able to get all the dishes done (no dishwasher), laundry washed and folded and floors cleaned. I also spent Saturday morning with family visiting my grandma at her care home. Didn't see DH much, but it was a productive weekend for me.
My daughters had prom - so fun helping them get ready. The Parents Association had a dinner during prom and it was nice to get dressed up and have a mocktail. My younger daughter celebrated confirmation on Mothers Day and we had a great brunch afterward. Followed by a glorious nap.
