Kitty and I stayed in bed until 11am yesterday (DH is out of town for work and it was my day off). Pretty sure we're going to do the same thing today. Not even sorry at all.
If I see one more post on fb about a husband not doing enough for mother's day I may lose it. Dude. You are not your husband's mother. Enjoy the day with your kids as best as you can instead of stewing over what your husband did or didn't do.

@AdmiralKitty I like your style. I'm thinking of doing the same. My pup and I are still in bed at 10, so I'm just gonna keep it going! I may not even stop at 11...

I am so, so tired because I ended up having a 17 hour day yesterday, almost all of which was spent on my feet, but it's so worth it. I had an L&D shift and it was everything I'd hoped. It feels like "my" specialty. As much as I didn't want to end up in a five year residency, I can totally see myself doing that for my career and everything else sort of pales in comparison.

@KilgraveMadeMeDoIt I'm so glad that you enjoyed the shift. It's a relief when something lives up to your expectations and "feels right".
We are dog sitting for our friends this weekend and their pup is our dog's best bud. The two of them are so cute and hilarious together. I woke up to them cuddled up in one dog bed. Now if they could just stop wrestling for like 2 minutes, that would be awesome!
Going to visit my parents for the weekend. My mom had back surgery and is doing fine, but can't feed herself and all that normal stuff. She called me to bitch for 20 minutes about how my dad "can't do anything right" and she hasn't been eating because he can't/won't go to the grocery store and buy and make food.
My mom is totally a drama queen and this is probably crying wolf. I can also picture my dad getting so fed up at being attacked that he stops trying. It's mother's day tomorrow, so fine, I'll suck it up and go over there and cook them dinner and give them a bunch of leftovers so the whining will stop. Oh, and also to assess how much of the bitching is real and how much is opiate induced stupor and general domestic bliss after 45 years of marriage.
I got her 2 weeks of delivery meal service for mother's day, but it doesn't start until next week. I didn't count on them not lasting 3 days without intervention.
Sigh.

@NavyBride93ouch!!! DH had that problem about a year ago and a little lancing did wonders, but ouch. I have a day of reckoning coming with my belly piercing. It's not ok with the belly changes.

After craving potato salad for two days, I made some (::cough::a tub::cough::) for dinner last night. I have single handedly eaten 90% of it. There is also a strawberry rhubarb pie in the oven right now.
@sunbeam1 Uh-oh. Yeah I'm thinking I'm going to have to find a sharp needle and sterilize it. I tried tea tree oil this morning and it kinda helped for a little bit but it's easy to see that there's some sub dermal irritants that need to be expressed. Bleh. I'm going to try a hot compress with an epsom salt soak in a little bit.
I can't even imagine sleeping 11 uninterrupted hours at this point, though it sounds heavenly. I think I'd wake up in a panic thinking my kids were dead if they hadn't woken me up after that long.
@NavyBride93Tea tree oil is good stuff, it might do the trick. I was instructed by the place that did my piercing to treat an infection by a daily soak in warm water and sea salt followed by antibiotic ointment.
Good luck!!!

It's definitely a first but I also went to sleep at the same time as DD and she usually sleeps from 8-6:30/7ish.
I just went to my BIL wedding yesterday. Im reminded why I went the non traditional route and had a bbq at a park. The reception ended right after food and it still lasted 3-4 hours. This pregnant girl was starving by the time food showed up. And my toddlers barely tolerated it. It was a gorgeous wedding, but not my style.
@TinyAlligator totally agree! I also don't understand bc Mother's Day is tomorrow... What if he had some magicalness planned but cause they suck they ruin it? Haha
@sunbeam1 Thanks! I just punctured it, turns out if wasn't closed fully. I've soaked it and put in a hypoallergenic stud. Weird how the piercing right about it is fine. Cartilage piercings are so finicky.
I'm debating telling my mom that I'm pregnant today so as not to 'steal her thunder' tomorrow. I am 99.99% sure she will be super happy, but she is bi polar and forgets her meds a lot. So she has the possibility to not be supportive. It has to be done tho. I'm getting a bit fluffier lol.
We went to the zoo with my 2 year old for the first time today. All he wanted to see were elephants and we made that happen
We were watching the orangutans and when one started to walk toward us, DS freaked out a bit. Made me realize that going to the zoo must be pretty intense when you're 2 and don't understand how the enclosures work!
Found a home to move to next month! We went rental home shopping today and put in our applications. Totally excited about a new adventure in a new town.
Switching the kids' schools during this pregnancy will wreck my heart though. I will bawl all day on their first day.
Went to some garage sales this morning and there were two kids (maybe 5 and 7 yrs old?) with a lemonade stand. As I was paying, the little boy runs up yelling "grandma, grandma!! We're rich. That man just gave us a whole dollar and didnt take the quarters back! First comes a dollar, then a hundred dollars! Do you think someone might give us a hundred dollars?!?!"
Holy hell. I ended up crying in my car over the adorableness.
Someone on here posted about sour cream and onion chips the other day. I haven't stopped thinking about them since... Laying on the couch with a family sized bag laying on my belly. I may eat the whole bag. No shame.

I went to the grocery store twice today, but it looks like I'm going again tomorrow because I need some of those!!
I got a nose bleed in my sleep last night that eventually woke me up. WtF sinuses?? On a positive note I went to an Asian market today and got ramune (yummy drink) and hichew (candy)!! Yummm!
DH decided on a spontaneous vacation this weekend. Not for mother's day. Just a family vacation just because. It was good. I was sick for part of Saturday, which sucked, but the rest was good.
I keep relearning that I need to eat something with protein about every two hours or I feel miserable. I got up at 7:30 to start getting everything ready for Mother's Day with the inlaws and only ate toast. By 10:30 I was in tears because I felt so gross. Got some real food and miracle of miracles I can function again.
