Cramping at 22 weeks?

Hi ladies. I'm just curious if getting mild cramping in the uterus area at 22 weeks is normal? Baby is very active so i know he is fine. No bleeding or anything out of the ordinary. Just a little cramping. Could it be growing pain? It comes for a good long while and then it goes for a bit. And then it comes back but not any worse which is good. It's just a little uncomfortable.

Re: Cramping at 22 weeks?

  • Sometimes I feel pressure, and it lasts for a while. My best guess is that baby is moving and stretching different areas. Does that sound like what could be happening?

  • Could you possibly be having braxton hicks?

  • I'm 22 weeks and have been experiencing Braxton hicks contractions regularly for about 4 weeks. Try drinking a big glass of water and laying down on your left side. Dehydration can cause contractions/cramping.
  • Thanks ladies. It could be him moving and stretching. I can't feel to much cause i have that anterior placenta. But just enough to know he's there. And it could have been braxton hicks and dehydration. I never drink enough water. Thanks ladies. I feel better this morning thank goodness.

I've been having contractions. My doc says dehydration or a full bladder can cause them. Which kinda makes me laugh because it's one extreme or the other that I find myself in; dehydrated or drinking so much I have to pee all the time.

My my doc said not to worry unless they're regular and frequent, which they aren't. Hope this helps to reassure you.
  • Thank you jensou. I am the same way. Either getting to much fluid or not enough. I feel like you can never get a good balance.
  • I get cramps anytime I have a full bladder. I go to the bathroom and they almost instantly go away.
