  • How far along are you? 36 weeks 2 days

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Trying to get over whatever this stupid cruddy sore throat brought on with a partially stuffy nose. Hubby has to go back to hospital tomorrow to drink a dye so they can xray his intestines more to figure out what the heck is going on which equals more bills we cant afford..yay. Symptoms:just baby movement a lot thankfully.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Currently we are so behind on everything I'm feeling overwhelmed and wish I had a fairy godmother to do it all for me.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Met with doula yesterday to talk about my birth preferences, family baby shower this weekend.

    Questions?

  • How far along are you? 35+2

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: So much pelvic pain, and insomnia, and then the sciatica came back yesterday.  And heartburn just showed up. Basically, I'm miserable at all hours of the day. Last night DH called from his business trip to check in and I had a complete breakdown on the phone, I felt so bad. I'm a very infrequent crier and DH felt bad that he was so far away and couldn't do anything. I'm just so uncomfortable, and overwhelmed, and my mother has been staying with me for a week and is driving me up a wall.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? We officially moved DS out of the nursery into his toddler room over the weekend, so I have done about 900000 loads of laundry (OK, fine, five) of bedding and old baby clothes and have started putting stuff in drawers in the nursery organized by size. FIL will paint the nursery sometimes next week, and next weekend a friend of ours will paint the mural on the wall. All the wall decor is in, we just have to get stuff framed and ready to hang once the painting is done. The only thing left to order is a super girly lamp from PBK, but I won't get my completion coupon until this weekend.

  • Just wanted to AW since I mentioned it in my previous post, this is my son's new room!  I love how it all came together.  (The green is not quite as bright in real life I don't think, I think it's just the camera lighting.)  And the bed is super comfy (thinking ahead for when I'll have to spend the night post-nightmare). In the left corner that you can't see is a little table with two chairs, he likes to sit there and do puzzles, or, when he thinks I'm not looking, climb on top of the table.  Only thing left to do is to paint the bed rail gray, which my FIL will do next week.

  • How far along are you? 36 weeks

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Pelvic/groin soreness and random stabs of pain in my vagina (apparently this is completely normal)

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Not much left to do.  Maybe wash some bottles this weekend.

    @newbabymakes4I love that rug!
Thanks @jschlaud ! In one of my nesting-induced crazy periods, I tracked it down to a tiny kids' store in Indiana (it's been discontinued in the large size). I love it so much!
  • @newbabymakes4 the room looks great! Kudos to you for getting the rooms organized. That seems like a lot of work.

@kbequette08 I'm with you on the sore throat/head cold. For me, it came on out of nowhere two days ago. Luckily, I think it's starting to fade. The Neti pot has been my friend these past couple days.

How far along are you? 36+1

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Symptoms: Fighting off a bit of a head cold, which has not been great for my sleep. Rave:

What are you doing to prepare for baby? We just got the baby's dresser delivered, so we'll be putting that and a closet organizer together this weekend. And I'm determined to get my hospital bag packed so that it's ready to go and I don't have to think about it. I'm trying to stick with the bare minimum - basic toiletries, phone charger, one change of clothes for going home. I don't want to bring enough stuff to the hospital that I feel like I could be there for a week.

Rant: Non-baby related...Booked the paper shredding company to come to the office today (part of our office moving prep) and told boss well ahead of time so she could make sure she was here and had her checkbook. I arrived at the office this morning and no boss in sight but the shredder guy was here. Ended up having to pay for it myself (company will eventually reimburse me). I just wasn't planning to spend that money for this sort of thing. Not mad, just annoyed more than anything. FYI, she decided she wanted to work from home today and forgot about the paper shredding appointment.

Rave: I got a haircut last night and I love it. It's a nice, medium length so I can still put it up if need-be but doesn't take much work to wear it down either. I also slept so well last night too, woohoo!

    Symptoms: Really tired.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? At this point, we're waiting for things to arrive in the mail for the nursery and gearing up for the baby shower next weekend.

How far along are you? 32 + 2

Rants - I've had four bloody noses in just over 24 hours.  Is this some freakish new pregnancy symptom or just a random occurrence?  Either way, I'm nervous about the fact that I decided to wear a new light blue and white shirt to work today and I'm hoping I can make it home without getting blood all over myself.  Also, my husband has a man cold and I seem to have left my sympathy in month 6.

Raves- I'm down to my last 4 or 5 weekly shots, I slept better last night than I have the last few nights and yesterday I scheduled a personal day for myself for May 20th so I will have three four day weeks in a row.  I'm really trying to limp through the end of the school year without needing to take full leave early.

Symptoms - Ah, welcome back horrible radiating lower back pain that wakes me up at night.  Join your friend, sciatica, in making me miserable.  It's also making me anxious because my first symptom of preterm labor with my son was a backache that progressed into back labor but having a back ache at 8 months pregnant is hardly a reason to rush off to the hospital in a panic like a crazy lady.  This means I spend a lot of my nights waking up and laying there freaking out trying to decide if it's just a normal backache or something I should worry about.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? We've had a few packed weekends in a row so this weekend is hopefully going to be more low key with a lot of time in pajamas, way too many cartoons for my kid (probably snuggled up in my lap) and a few chores I want to do like moving clothes from one dresser to another and probably packing at least the basics of a hospital bag.

Questions?  Anyone else with the nosebleed thing???

  • @alitria I never had a nosebleed in my life until I got pregnant!!  Apparently it has to do with us being just overflowing with extra blood and our capillaries in our noses being enlarged or something like that. I had a terrible cold for over 2 weeks and there was blood in every booger (gross) and then one day at work I had a full on, gushing blood, lucky I was wearing black nosebleed. Fun stuff.

@newbabymakes4 what an awesome room!  Lucky little dude!
@alitria I'm prone to nosebleeds as it is but now every morning I wake up with disgusting bloody gunk in my nose.  I can blow it out, but it's nasty.

How far along are you? 33 weeks on Sat
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:Rant- HEARTBUUUURN!  All day.Rave- I'm rested today!  At least more than usual. Everyone in my family (hubs, daughter, big shaggy dog, me) went to bed early last night and I got up to pee twice but managed to get back to sleep quickly both times... so compared to my horrible nights lately, it was a dream.
Rave #2- this is a big one... after measuring small and being paranoid about it, I'm thrilled that a recent ultrasound revealed that baby is right at the 50th percentile!
Also thanks @kbequette08 for starting this.  I still enjoy a good check-in even though the group has changed quite a bit and we're all often busy, grumpy, huge, and exhausted.

What are you doing to prepare for baby?We live in a small space, so he has a corner of our room at the moment and we will eventually migrate out of the big room so he and his sister can both be based there.  Still, we have most things set up and I got a ton of sweet hand-me-downs from a friend the other day (in exchange for my girlie hand-me-downs for her daughter).  Picking up the carrier and sling from storage at my mom's this weekend and I think we'll almost be ready.  Much easier the second time around... I can't see him complaining about his digs or his gently-used attire ;).

@lolonvive and @SMLmom I'm sorry you're also having this seriously annoying symptom but glad it's not just me.  I tend to get them occasionally, especially since allergy season has been so bad this year, but this is definitely a new record.  I was standing in the office at school talking the secretary while she registered a new student and all of a sudden, I realized I had blood running down my face. Welcome to the school! Awesome.
  • @newbabymakes4. Awesome Room!!!!

    34 weeks +5

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

Rants: I need sleep. If I get more than 4 hours a night it would be a great night.

Symptoms: Been having BH during the night and day and boy are they really starting to hurt.

Raves: I love feeling baby move.....Plus 37 days until my EDD.

    No questions.
  • I am 32 weeks.

I'm hungry like every hour and have been getting nauseated and constipated again. Rave: baby room is painted, crib is up but no mattress, and we got cute Finding Dory curtains for our baby girls room. Doing an ocean theme.

We just need to finish decorating the room. I did a little painting for her and waiting on baby shower.
  • How far along are you? 35wks 6d

Rant: I'm totally ready to just check out of life until this baby arrives. It's not so much that I'm physically miserable, but I'm mentally gone and having to focus on anything serious like volunteer or work commitments is aggravating. I'm just so distractible.

Rave: Someone told me earlier today that I was 'very graceful' for being 8 months pregnant, which although I don't particularly feel graceful, is nice to hear!

Symptoms: I feel like all my first-trimester exhaustion is back, plus I hate standing for more than 15 minutes at a time, and walking much is uncomfortable. My back (and butt?!) muscles hurt all the time. Basically I feel like a feeble old lady, haha.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? I have my midwife home visit scheduled for next week, so I've been frantically gathering up the things we need to have on hand for our planned homebirth - towels and snacks for the birth team, stuff like that. I still have to go through the diaper stash and get that ready. I realized yesterday that I need to have a bunch of receiving blankets and I have exactly zero, so I think I have a last-ditch Amazon order in my immediate future also. (I say that - I will probably order from Amazon 736 more times before this baby actually arrives.)

Questions? I don't have anything planned for my 5-year-old DD in terms of gifts, either from the baby to her, or just from us to her. Is that terrible?

  • @kbequette08  I hope everything goes okay with your husband.  Try to take it one step at a time, that's what I do when I feel overwhelmed.
@meggyme  Yay for hubby coming home!
    @newbabymakes4  Super cute!
@vintagevix86  I'd be super mad at my boss if that happened.  She should be paying you back and then they can reimburse her.
@alitria  I literally LOL when I read about the "man cold."  Too funny!
@SMLmom  I'm glad baby has caught up sizewise.

How far along are you? 32w 5dRants/Raves/Symptoms: Our BM's BP is very concerning.  She's currently under control but we had a scare last Wednesday.  They started talking about delivering at 34 weeks.  That's the day of our shower!  I don't want premie issues.  I told our BM to sit her ass on the couch and be lazy! What are you doing to prepare for baby? The first part of our home study was last night.  The social worker was really nice and easy to talk to.  Overall I think it went well.  He will be back again on the 17th for a follow up.Questions?  Anyone else feeling really pressured to get everything done like yesterday?

@Love4Labs326 I got off work, got my progesterone shot, picked up my son, did laundry, took out the trash, made dinner, got son ready for bed and I'm trying to get him to sleep. I'm too queasy to eat and I still haven't taken the benadryl I'm supposed to take ASAP after my shot. He left work early, got a sub for tomorrow, was asleep when I got home, got up at 7, yelled at our son and has been sitting in the recliner since. To be clear, he saw the Dr yesterday because he was sure he needed a prescription and the Dr was like "it's a cold, or maybe allergies."  I seriously haven't spoken to him because I know I do not have anything helpful to say.  I know the silent treatment isn't good, but it's definitely the best option currently.

I had a 34 week baby with my first because of complications and it wasn't my dream birth, but he did well and came home at 36 1/2 weeks. With this pregnancy, they have told me making it to 34 weeks is a big milestone, so hopefully she gets there safely. Coincidentally, I had my son the night before my shower, totally unexpectedly, so we were trying to call people that morning from the hospital. My poor friend who had planned an amazing shower was a saint and hosted a meet the baby shower when he was six weeks old.
  • @Love4Labs326 That is quite the scare, I'm glad to hear the BP level is under control now though! *Phew*

Yea, she pulls this kinda of thing periodically. It actually happened during our last office move. I ended up having to pay for the movers! Laaaaame.
