Terrible Rash....help!!

We went to the Dr on Thursday afternoon for eczema and what we thought was a tiny drool rash, temp was fine there. Went home and work up from a long nap to a 100.7 temp. Took him to the clinic (dr office was closed) they did a strep culture (negative) and sent us home with antibiotics for a sore throat and ear infection. Wake up the next morning and we still have a temp, super fussy, and the rash around our mouth looks really red, irritated and has spread to all around mouth to and covering the whole chin and up to the nose. So I started thinking hand foot and mouth. Took him back to the clinic this morning because now he has random little red dots (look kinda like blisters but not filled) on legs, arms, tops of hands, and ears. Dr said it wasn't hand foot and mouth but she didn't have any answer but that it was probably a viral infection and to let it run its course. Thoughts??  Hear are some pictures as well

    hand foot and mouth was my thought. Poor baby. Hope he feels better soon.

    I really think so too!! Dr just seemed so unsure of everything but kept saying not hand foot and mouth because it wasn't on his hands or feet. However everyone I have ask has thought it as well. Hope that's what it is!!

    My daughter just had a horrible rash like that as well and the doctor said it was a rash from a viral infection. She had a double ear infection as well. They told me to let it runs it course but we could give her benadryl as well. I gave her benadryl 3 mil that night and in the morning she looked 10x better! She still has some on her legs and shoulders but I think it is her ezcama flaring up. Was also told to use Aquaphor lotion and Oatmeal bath. Hope that helps! We were in that boat last week and it's not fun!

    Thanks guys! Turns out it was hand foot and mouth (daycare ended up sending half of his room home Friday! But didn't know for sure what it was til Monday) Crazy Dr.....we will not be visiting that clinic again!! But he is doing much better, still a little red around the mouth. Now if we could just get sleeping through the night again
