okay... Baby boy was born Sept 2015. I breastfed almost exclusively and would only occasionally give Similac Breast feeding supplementation formula. I never produced enough breast milk to pump/save up and give him in a bottle. So in December when I wanted to try to supplement more with formula that is when the problems really started. At first it took a while to find a bottle/nipple that he would accept. He is on the low percentile weight wise and at his last two Ped visits, the doc has stressed that my baby must take more formula. I am so stressed and upset. I have tried everything. He started eating baby food in February and loves it. He will eat the Gerber Oatmeal cereal mixed with formula. He loves the Geber baby yogurt as well. Starting at his bedtime when he is almost asleep he will usually take 5 oz of formula, then around 2 a.m. 5 more oz, and then 4 oz about at about 5 a.m. He takes these bottles while he is almost asleep or asleep. Last week I had the "bright idea" of adding a few spoons of the baby yogurt to the formula bottle and he took it really well. Essentially my 8 month-old refuses a bottle during the day and will only take it while he is sleeping. Is anyone having or had similar issues as this?!
Re: Help 7 month old hates formula & will basically only accept a bottle while going to sleep or asleep
If you can't get him to drink his formula during the day, keep doing what you're doing and add it to oatmeal and yogurt, increasing the number of times you feed him or the amount you feed him each time until he's getting the amount of formula he needs each day. Hope you find something that works!
