  I have been reading a book called "Mindsight" by Daniel Siegel. It's a psychology book, but the way he writes is good for laymen as well. It's all about how changing your thought patterns can help you become more resilient and appreciate life more. He goes through various patients he has had in the past and how he helped them live their best life, just by addressing mental blocks. I'm a psychology nerd, but I have really been loving it and think everyone should read it. 
  Also, another book is "The 4:8 Principle" by Tommy Newberry. It stems from Philippians 4:8 "Whatever is true, whatever is noble...etc." and is another great book about taking control of your thought life and living positively.
