***Been lurking for a week since I found out my due date is actually October***
Forgive me for this being my first post (other than my intro) as I know it breaks all etiquette but I just needed to moan and complain anonymously to the interwebs
My DH...my lovely DH...came home from work today and said "I feel like crap." Now, he's usually good for a man cold and called in sick yesterday because he had a tummy ache (I really want to see a man be pregnant someday) so I did my usual eye roll and ignored him (I'm horrible...I know) while I continued to make dinner for us and DD. I finally got to a point where I could stop and took a look at him laying on the couch. Geez, he sure looks pale. So I went and got the thermometer (because when asked if he thought he had a fever, his response was "How am I supposed to know?") And low and behold, it was 101.5.
I banished him to the den and proceeded to bleach everything he touched.
Checked him again an hour after some Ibuprofen (God, do I miss that stuff). Now it's 103. EFFFFFFF!
I feel bad for him. I really do. BUT ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME??? IT'S MAY! We got our flu shots. And of course he gets the flu.
I'm taking bets on how long before DD comes down with it. But secretly? I hope it's the strain we got last year (DD and I) and that we are immune. I CANNOT GET THE FLU RIGHT NOW!
**end vent**
subnote: I know it's not the end of the world - though it is risky for me to get the flu - I'm just really whiny about it and got tired of bleaching and needed to complain. Thanks for listening. Back to Cloroxing my life.

I heard rumour that this year's flu shot was not particularly effective. No source for that, but there has been a huge number of families hit with it in my area.
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
DD2: October 2016
DC3: coming May 2019
Flu is definitely sticking around late this year, as is norovirus (a notorious GI bug). Either way, stay hydrated, take tylenol to keep fevers down (if you do get sick) and good luck!
