Appointment update? acupuncture today and weekly OB check in on Friday
Questions for the group? has anyone tried acupuncture during their pregnancy? my friend did it a couple times toward the end and just had her baby (at exactly 39 weeks) and had a relatively easy labor though that could be completely coincidental.
What's left on your to-do list? I've knocked out just about everything I can think of... still need to hit the grocery store for snacks and other grab and go food but other than that if baby came today we'd be in great shape. Hear that, baby???
Symptoms/raves/rants? Raves - Feeling him move and watching my tummy move!! Hearing his heartbeat. Rants - He has found my sciatic nerve. It hurts.
Appointment update? Had one this morning. Measuring 35 weeks. Weekly appointments from here on out! Also, tested negative for Group B Strep. Woot!
Questions for the group? None
What's left on your to-do list? Once the dresser is painted (DH sanded it last night) I will need to put his clothes away. We need some other type of storage for his diapers and stuff. After the dresser and bookshelf are painted and in place, we really don't have much else to do except for hang pictures in his room and put on the finishing touches!
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great
Married: June 12,2011
TTC #1: 1/2014
Diagnosis: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Treatment: Clomid: 50mg, 100mg, 150mg - not successful and not monitored
How many weeks/fruit? 39 / whatever fruit or veggie it is, double it.
Symptoms/raves/rants? She's still all up in my ribs. I feel two hard lumps on each side of my rib cage, yet I feel her very low in my pelvis. I have no idea how the heck she's positioned in there but she is constantly moving so I guess she's got plenty of room...!
Appointment update? Appt on wed. They added in an ultrasound because she is measuring pretty big (per the nurse practitioner I saw last week who I wasn't highly confident in) - she also felt my stomach and her eyes got big. I think she's just long. Or a dragon.
Questions for the group?
What's left on your to-do list? Convince my doctor on Wednesday that I need to be induced so I don't have to do the 30 things that are planned this weekend when I'm almost 40 weeks. Am I too selfish? Yes... I can admit it.
How many weeks/fruit? 38 weeks / winter melon again
Symptoms/raves/rants? This past week has been quite different than past weeks. After having barely any BH's I starting having a bunch on Saturday and they have continued since then. I also experienced lighting crotch yesterday for the first time. Baby feels much lower!
Appointment update? I had a good check-up this morning. I'm starting to dilate & efface (1/2cm & 50%) so I'm excited for some progress. BP and baby's heart beat both look great. I go back next Monday!
What's left on your to-do list? I need to finish my hospital bag & pack my daughter's overnight bag and then I should be good to go. Of course, there are a few things that I want to do, but not needed.
Symptoms/raves/rants? For 40 weeks I feel pretty good, except when I try and sleep, I feel like I need a crane to help me turn onto my other side lol, beep beep beep./I get to meet my LO soon!!/ I am a bit worried about having to be induced, seems like I keep hearing horror stories about people being in labor for days, oh my.
Appointment update? Appointment tomorrow to check cervix, which was still closed as of last Wednesday. Sono appointment on Wednesday to check fluid levels and health of placenta. Based on those results if it shows the fluid is low or placenta is deteriorating I will be admitted and induced that day, but if it's still all good, admitted and induced by May 10th.
Questions for the group? None
What's left on your to-do list? Everything and nothing lol. Just trying to finish up regular household chores and stuff.
Symptoms/raves/rants? I overdid it yesterday and my legs were throbbing! Just achy and uncomfortable. The throbbing finally died down early this afternoon and I feel much better.
Appointment update? Wednesday. I hope things have moved along, but I don't have a whole lot of confidence in that. No "pressure" down below, no MP loss, no contractions, really, other than the sporadic BH. I read an article on the online WTEWYE site and it said only 2% of births are actually late. Most late births are because of people not remembering their LMP or ovulation date. but I know exactly when I ovulated, so I'm expecting him on time even though things don't seem to be progressing at all toward labor.
Questions for the group?
What's left on your to-do list? Ugh...so many things. Ordered a hamper today from amazon. We need bottles. Our cloth diaper service has gone MIA and won't return my calls. They were supposed to schedule an appointment to bring over a supply, show us how it is done, and set up the dirty diaper pick up schedule. But it's radio silence on their end, so we may need to do disposables, which means we should probably buy some.
@vinerie that article can't be right. For FTM's, 5% give birth on their EDD, half before, and the other half after they are due. Even if you know exactly when you ovulated (which I do too) doesn't mean baby should come right on their EDD.
@hellogoodbye2 Right, but how many people know exactly when they ovulated? The article was saying that among people that know, only 2% go late. Or maybe it's just bunk, I don't know. I didn't follow the links to the original research. But the general idea was that many people who think they are late aren't actually late.
How many weeks/fruit? 37 weeks today/Romaine lettuce
Symptoms/raves/rants? insomnia followed by complete exhaustion; little to no appetite; irregular contractions; menstrual-like cramps; heartburn; fortunately, very little swelling; constantly thirsty, no matter how much water I drink; sinus pressure and congestion (probably completely unrelated to the pregnancy but still making me feel crappy)
Appointment update? weekly OB appointment on Wednesday
Questions for the group? none
What's left on your to-do list? Finish organizing and decorating nursery (about 75% done), purchase final baby items (glider/ottoman set, baby gate, video monitor), organize guest room (for my parents to stay when they come to visit after LO is born) and have DH put boxes in attic or garage, finish deep cleaning house (its about 50% at this point), finish front entry landscaping (since we'll be having visitors after LO arrives and it looks terrible right now), final pre-baby haircut/color, final pre-baby mani/pedi.
How many weeks/fruit? 39 weeks/Pumpkin....C/S Thursday!
Symptoms/raves/rants? Pressure, HB, lots of fluid, contractions, sleeplessness, hunger off and on
Appointment update? C/S Thursday at 6am (sooo early ugh)
Questions for the group?
What's left on your to-do list? Get the carseat installed, go to the store for milk/yogurt essential stuff, sleep, take some bags to Goodwill, light a fire under DH's ass to get his freaking work stuff out of the dining room, and get DD1 to the IL's (which won't be until Wed afternoon).
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
Symptoms/raves/rants? All the contractions. But not close enough to time. Ugh. More baby hiccups. General anxiety about the labor and deliver process. So glad to be done at the office.
Appointment update? Induction on Thursday morning at 5:30!
Questions for the group?
What's left on your to-do list? Pretty much resolved to the fact that if it's not done by now, it ain't happenin. So that.
Symptoms/raves/rants? False labor, and discomfort. If feeling like I'm the size of a house is a symptom, that too.
Baby wiggles are nice though, unless she stretches out to my ribs; then not so much.
Appointment update? Wed for sizing sono. Still keeping an eye on how big baby is getting in case an alternative plan will be needed.
Follow up OB appt on Thurs.
Questions for the group? Is anyone limiting the amount of family they have coming to see baby? I have relatively younger siblings. The youngest and I have a 16 year age gap, which puts her in elementary. I naturally want my siblings to meet baby but I'm also afraid of the potential for baby to get sick with her being well, a newborn. How far is too far? Am I being ridiculous worrying about a total of 8 people staying in the same house for a week?
What's left on your to-do list? Have the baby. Kidding..I wish that was it. Reorganize some drawers in kitchen to make room for baby stuff down the road and do one last deep cleaning. Otherwise, I have all of baby's stuff ready to go!
Symptoms/raves/rants? Acid reflux at night, not hungry but eating because it's a means to an end.
Appointment update? Wednesday to check position. Found out last week that the baby is breech. I guess that's how my babies like to be carried. Also, thinking it's a girl. Only a girl would do this to me.
Questions for the group? Any breech babies flip in the last couple of weeks? Was hoping to avoid a repeat C/S, but now I'm not so hopeful.
What's left on your to-do list? EVERYTHING! Finish grad school paper, rearrange and decorate DD/LO's room, find changing pad, wash cover for changing pad. Clean the house, or hire someone to do it. Pass the time till baby arrives.
Symptoms/raves/rants? After feeling like she was head down last week, DD3 is now high transverse. I had some pool time this weekend which felt wonderful on my hips and back but I could tell DD3 was moving around but not how much...Darn you baby, why did you flip that way!!!
Also false labor sucks.. Had 4 hrs of contractions this evening all 3-10 min apart at random intervals.
Appointment update? Yesterday (Monday), standard check with ultrasound added in since in the in office tech was free and Dr had concerns on baby's position and size. (8 lbs 6 oz and the tech doesn't think she is off my more that 1/2 lbs based the views she was able to get).
Questions for the group? Anyone else dealing with a transverse baby this late in the game? What's your game plan: try and turn, wait and see, or planned c-sect.
What's left on your to-do list? Figuring out what I want to do with baby positioning and size and sit down with Dr in the next day or two to discuss and plan. Some organizing still left to do but can get done this week we won't try to get baby out till next week at earliest.
@vinerie That is frustrating!! I'd be upset. I just started to wash my cloth diapers yesterday. I am so excited to use them, but we won't be right away since so many people got us some diapers. We will return packages that aren't open, but we got three freaking diaper cakes full of diapers!

I also got a diaper cake! While I totally appreciate the sentiment, and it was also super cute, I was a little annoyed about it. My sister got it for me and she knows we are doing cloth...I'm sure we will use them and DH will probably be happy to have an excuse to not wrangle cloth for a bit.

We're planning on doing cloth diapers as well, and had a bunch of cloth diapering stuff on our registry... but so many people bought us diapers too... and a big diaper cake. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but seriously? In fact, my MIL bought us a 3 month supply of honest diapers. Hmm. Not sure what to do with that.
sx/ rant/ rave: tired and feeling like a whale lol. Love the bed time routine DH and I have gotten into where he and I watch LO roll around and feel him kick together before going to sleep... Best part of my day!
appointment: yesterday, LO is head down and measuring on track
?'s none
what's left: putting AAA on my car, picking out & hanging art in the nursery, buying an area rug too, buying a diaper pail, maternity pics (this weekend), cleaning and organizing the guest bedroom for my mom who arrives next Friday, finding space in the kitchen for LO's stuff. And attend a breastfeeding class and possibly tour our emergency birth location (in case we have to transfer from our birth center). Freezer meals - probably delegating this to my mom when she gets here and the 1000 other things I'm not thinking of at the moment!!!
Note- I have been to our emergency location several times before so if I don't fit in an official tour it's not the end of the world - I know where I'm going, where to park etc and so does DH...
37+3 (or 37+4 because I'm up writing this at 4:45am darn it!)
symtoms/rants/raves: oh, the usual! I can't wait for this carpal tunnel to be over with !!!
Doc appt: Had an appt at 2:45 on Tuesday 5/3. Blood pressure was very high so off to the hospital we went. Same thing happened two weeks ago and it calmed down and they sent us home. Last night my blood pressure continued to remain high while they monitored me. Baby looked great on the monitor tho. I've never had protein in my urine but they sent me home with a jug to pee in for 24 hours. If there is enough protein to register preeclampsia then tomorrow 5/4 is induction day! We will get to the hospital at 5, and they'll monitor my blood pressure again for a few hours while checking the urine. If urine is normal then they'll diagnose me with gestational hypertension and I think I'll have some meds to take while being watched carefully for the next couple weeks. I AM SO NERVOUS!!
Left on the to do list? H and I are both working from home tomorrow while I pee in the jug :-) he needs to install the monitor and otherwise we have some light cleaning to do but everything else is ready!!
Re: Monday/Tuesday Ticker Change (5/2 & 5/3)
