A few post ago, someone started a discussion called the whine thread(should be wine thread) or something like that. So, I figured why not some cheese with our whine?! What are some things that make you SMILE??? It can be baby related, work related, significant other related, hobby related, WHATEVER it is that gets you cheesin'!
My LO makes me smile when she does all her lip smacking... All.. Day.. Long! It's so funny how fascinated she is by it. I like to pretend she's practicing for her first words (mama!) I also think it's hilarious how serious her face gets when she decides it's crawling time. She'll start in the living room and go all the way down the hallway, through the master bedroom and into the master bath just so she can look into the floor length mirror. The whole wat there she doesn't make a single expression, it's all business on her face.
Sunday I made homemade bagels from scratch and they turned out pretty good!! I think I could really get into baking, but it's soooo terrible. I also made some spent grain flour from my husbands home brewing leftovers, so I'm pretty excited to try and make something this week

(maybe bread, but probably cookies!)
Also, I'm in the AF and we did a practice PT test yesterday. Nevermind the fact that I failed my push-ups, I ran my mile and a half in under 12 minutes!!! 11:57 baby, I've been going on lots of runs and I am very proud of my progress.
Re: Cheese thread (aka smile thread!)
Your LO sounds super cute with her business crawl! Mine's not crawling yet, but he always makes me laugh when he starts talking to his toys. He'll be playing and then his tone will change completely and he'll start with this drawn out vocal fry thing that's so cute, and you can tell he's trying to say something very important. He also has a great laugh, and my DH gets him going really good when he flies him around the room or makes faces at him in the mirror. I always laugh at his flirty grin too, he's a real charmer
Do you have a recipe you could share? I tried a bread recipe using the wet grains once but the bread turned out super dense and still gooey inside. So this time I dehydrated the grains and then put them in the food processor to make flour. But that was a big pain, it would be so much easier to just use them while they're still wet.

"I'm having fruit salad for dinner. Well, it's mostly just grapes, actually. Ok all grapes. Fermented grapes. Fine, I'm having wine for dinner."
The other night DH and I were downstairs watching GoT and when I went up to bed I found DS1 sound asleep in my spot. I completely melted, it is so rare to get a chance to see him so sweet and still because he is usually so busy. I love getting to hold him when he sleeps.
The best thing in the world is seeing my boys play together, they love to chase each other and the dog around the house. It's so much fun and makes being a mom worth every sleepless night.
All in all, being a mother, although stressful, is amazing! It's so awesome seeing these little creatures grow into amazing children. My daughters are two of the most sweetest girls I know. They care so much about others it makes me melt. They absolutely adore their little brother and I love love seeing them play together and interact.
My parents moved this past weekend and I seriously kicked some butt helping them get unpacked! Between three kids, taking care of my house and theirs- makes me feel like superman! But it's also so nice seeing them in a place that fits what they need so perfectly
thanks for starting this thread. It's nice to stop and realize everything that's GREAT
I think I want to have another (but who knows!) It already makes my heart melt to see LO interact with the dog and cats so I can't even imagine seeing all that sibling love.
At work we often have big potlucks and such that we can bring our families to and we always see this one woman around with 2 young kids (below school aged) and a baby strapped to her back. She always looks so calm cool and collected wrangling the kids around. Carrying all their plates and drinks. We call her Super Mom lol and that's what you just reminded of
-My favorite flowers are daisies. My hubby came home from work the other day and he handed me a can of soda with 3 daisies sitting in it. I looked at him crazy and asked what is this and laughed. He had to walk through a field for one of his jobs today and he saw them and picked them for me. He dumped out his soda and turned it into a vase with water. It was so cheesy and adorable. I loved it
-Nothing makes me smile more then my sons giggle. It's one of those baby giggles you see in viral videos and it's so contagious. I soak up every second of it
- when my mom comes over to see my son. Nobody gets the same reaction he gives to her. He smiles and starts kicking and clapping. I love how happy it makes both of them, but I'm slightly jealous too haha
1.5 Cups hot water
3T oil (I use olive, but veg would work too)
3T agave syrup or sugar (I like agave, it has always worked as a great sugar for my bread)
3 cups bread flour
1cup spent grain
2, 1/4 TSP instant yeast (1 package)
2tsp salt
I use a bread maker, mix wet ingredients then add dry and bake on medium, 2lb loaf, normal cycle. It has always turned out pretty good. Enjoy!
