Re: Junk Food Thread

  • Chocolate peanut butter ice cream is my favorite! I love the Breyers one. It has real peanut butter and no growth hormones.

  • Turkey hill chocolate peanut butter ice cream ladies, you'll never try another!

  • Ben & Jerry's peanut butter cup. Also, a Boston local: JPLicks peanut butter Oreo! Mm mm there's a JPLicks like 4 blocks from my house. I may need to go get some ASAP.

  • I googled Tillamook and Turkey Hill and I can't get either of them around here. No JPLicks, either, given that I don't live in Boston. I should do a chocolate peanut butter ice cream tour of the United States. (My husband would hate that. Peanut butter isn't a popular thing in Ireland. He thinks Americans are crazy for liking it.)

  • @CarrieandRoy your H can skip the Skippy. More for me!!!

actually, this reminds me that one of my favorite pregnancy snacks has been apple slices with peanut butter. I've been eating that almost daily for months. I used to eat it occasionally and it reminds me of my childhood. Something about pregnancy that triggers a primal need for comfort foods. I've increased my consumption of PB&J sandwiches too.

  • Oh my gosh, @redheadbride15 ! I'm gonna have to do the apple slices and peanut butter. I never used to eat PB--like, I could have a jar in my cupboard for years. But when I got pregnant with my son, I suddenly turned into a PB monster! I'll sometimes just eat it by the spoonful!
  • I love to do apple slices with almond butter! I've been eating them way more since being pregnant!

  • 1) peanut butter has, and always will be, my soulmate.

    2) free pastry with my Panera bread order today! YES!
  • @MollySm Tillamook ice cream is so great. I'm having heartburn now and may just go get some!
  • I'm a big fan of apple slices and peanut butter too! Sometimes I add a sprinkle of cinnamon. I always save a slice for my dog as she's a big fan too :)
  • I miss Tillamook! My grandma always had it for us when we visited her in Eugene.
  • Guys I just got back from a weekend in Vermont.... Burlington and Montpelier have some UH-MAZING pigout places. The only downside is that they also have some UH-MAZINGLY tempting craft brews. I stuck witht the mocktails.

Oh, the thought of visiting Burlington and not being able to drink beer makes me want to cry... Glad you had fun though!

  • @lillebowski23 I live in Montpelier! Sorry I missed you! Living in the craft beer mecca and not drinking for 9 months is like torture. I readily admit that I regularly sneak a taste of whatever DP is drinking. Glad you enjoyed your visit to the Green Mountain State!
  • As an aside, I love bloody Mary's and they are my go to pregnancy mock tail. A couple of local places make their own mix with a ton of horseradish and heat. So good!
  • @Mamafesto I love it up there! We ate at the Three Penny Taproom. I also am a huge fan of Capitol Grounds and stop there whenever I head up that way!
  • We love 3P! But that is by far the most painful place to hang while pregnant since they always have an awesome taplist. You should come back up in September after both our LOs are here and I'll buy you a drink!
  • Omg great idea! I have a good friend who lives in Burlington who would LOVE to see the LO. Another reason for all of us to move on over to the 35+ parenting board after "graduation." ;)

  • I love this idea, particularly bc it means I won't have to travel with my two LOs
  • I do need to check Vermont off of my list...the upper NE has definitely been tricky for me as I pursue visiting all 50 states. This might be the thing that does it! ;)

I've never been in that part of the states at all!! I'm pretty poorly traveled in the states considering how many places outside the us I have been. Looks like I need to check it out!
  • I've been trying to see more of the U.S. in recent years. I've got the whole northeast as well as most of the west coast and Rocky Mountain states covered. But I haven't been basically anywhere in the Midwest or much of the south.

  • Here's my tip though @redheadbride15 - come to the Midwest in the summer.  It's awesome here then.  Winter - not so much! :)

  • ACK! I want that now, @CarrieandRoy ! I have to go to the grocery store as soon as my kiddo wakes up from his nap...chocolate pudding and whipped cream are totally going on the list now. Mmmmmmmmmm.....
  • I tried a Bourbon and Brown butter ice cream fro. Ben and Jerry's today. No pics because it was delicious and I am selfish ;)
  • That pudding looks better than any pudding I've had recently.  YUMMMMM!!!!

@Wyattnash00 - I'm so happy your girl gained  a whole pound!!  That's awesome.  Do they think the last measurement could have been a little off?
