January 2016 Moms

3 days till due date

Well ladies my babygirl is due here on January 4th. I'm 3 cm dilated and just waiting for labor to start. If she isn't here by her due date my doctor is going to do a ultrasound and non stress test to make sure induction isn't necessary if not I can go up to 42 weeks on my own. Hoping baby girl decides to make an appearance here soon. Hang in there January Mommies!

Re: 3 days till due date

  • I am right with you! I am also due on Jan 4. I have been 90% effaced and engaged since 36 weeks but only 1 cm dilated. I see doctor on Monday, and if this little girl hasn't come, the doctor will be scheduling an induction.

I am just so miserable now and I feel like I literally can't talk to anyone because they only thing they ask us how I feel etc.

  • Same boat here, due Jan 4! I have the test scheduled for Monday. Hoping baby girl makes her entrance before then!
  • Same here! My due date was originaly 1.1. and has been changed to the 6.1. after the results of the combined test.... waiting... and getting stressed out because I want a home birth and I'm scared by the idea of an induction in hospital.... Our DD came 3weeks early and everything started with the water breaking so that we knew labour had really started...this time the waiting game with several false alarms is really not nice and slowly getting on my nerves...and DH who has some time off and is at home too... PLEASE sweet little boy, be nice to mummy and .... give her her body back...NOW!!!! ;-)
  • Same here!!! I was was hoping this little guy would come before then as well. I don't know what my doctor has in mind. His office was closed the last two weeks and he told me not to set an appointment until after his break because he did not think I would still be pregnant. I'm still hoping he was right and I have my baby this weekend.
  • Oh I'm jealous you girls are making progress.. Due tomorrow and nothing has happened and I haven't progressed towards labor at all! My Dr is telling me thats he's not coming anytime soon on him own so I think I'm getting induced next weekend and I'm such a anxious person that its completely stressing me out. I wanted him to come on him own and hopefully by come miracle he will!
  • Jan. 4th here too! This little girl isn't in any hurry to show her sweet face! Last appt was Monday and nothing. My midwife couldn't reach my cervix. Hoping that this Monday's appt will be different, so ready to welcome our little Paige to the world!

Same on being due tomorrow. All i know is baby is engaged and I'm 60% effaced. Idk if I'm dilated.
  • 1.5 days to go ladies!
  • Been crampy all day some worse than others maybe tonight will be the night.
  • I am due tomorrow. My first water broke at 33.5. They held everything off a few days, then induced. SS was was induced as well, so poor hubby has been a nervous wreck watching all the false alarms, starts, stops, etc. (started almost 5 wks ago) I've woken up 3 times from a dead sleep in the past 14 hrs to strong contractions that keep me from sitting up or straightening the lazy boy (only place I can sleep with hip and pelvic pain). Just as I'm throwing something last minute in my suitcase, or about to put on real clothes, they start getting farther apart. My vbac hopes are swirling the drain. Dr said last week when he stripped membranes, Bb might be getting too big. Even if their estimate was spot on, and he ONLY gained 1/2 lb per week since. He is at 9... Add to that the big heads and broad shoulders of hubby's side, and I'm done fighting the back and forth waiting game with the horrible pelvic pain. If Dr is already concerned about size, whether he'll "fit", I'm this miserable, and the additional time (they won't induce) isn't going to help either of us with this problem, I am trying to mentally prepare myself for another C-section to come later in the week.
  • I walked 3.5 miles at the zoo today. Baby is due in 5 days. I am sick of waiting!

  • Been having contractions all day. Hubby doesn't believe we need to go to hospital yet he said he didn't think I'm in enough pain he believes I will be more disabled by pain then that is the time. He went off to bed I tried and just keep having contractions fairly strong that I can't sleep I need to rock or move. Hoping something happens this is pretty painful.
  • Wow sounds good @ShortStuffs5! Maybe time to start timing them? Maybe put in a call to your doctors office if your not sure.
  • I'm due on the 5th and have had zero signs. I bounced all day on my ball and and all that left me with was crazy pelvic pain. It felt so good to bounce. I could breath better. But when I got up sweet baby Jesus I could barley walk!
  • I'm due on the sixth. Rarely have contractions. I am not dilated what so ever. I've tried Everything from tea to bouncing on the preggo ball and walking and nothing. I'm so over this. There's no end in sight.
  • My due date is the 10th but IDK why Im getting induce if my pregnancy is not high risk or anything! Going to the hospital Wednesday @12am D:
  • I literally can't even put anything on Facebook. Even if I say something that has nothing to do with baby, someone has to make a stupid... Maybe baby will come today comment. ENOUGH already!

You can always tell your doctor no. I think many women forget who is in control. If there's no good reason to induce and you aren't comfortable with it, just say you'd rather wait.

  • My midwife offered me a "stretch & sweep" at 37w +5d....only because they realized I was 4cm dilated. I said no. That was on December 22nd and I am STILL VERY MUCH pregnant. My baby was not ready and I will not try to rush the inevitable despite how excited I am to meet him or how much pain I am in or how moody and miserable I get....Some midwives/doctors etc try to get the ball rolling as soon as mommy is in the "safe zone" and others prefer to give nature as much time as medically safe to run its course. However, the ultimate decision is yours and yours alone, feel free to say "no thank you".
  • I'm due january 15th but have my next obgyn appt tomorrow... So far at my 36 week appt dr could see mini contractions and last week sai my placenta was starting to calcify a mature which is normal after 37 weeks...

So far only symptoms i have besides lower back pain are some pressure/pains that come infrequently to my colon area, pooping quite often like 4 times a day and sometimes it feels like its softer, othertimes normal, had cramping on my lower abdomen for several hours twice and lightning crotch and braxton hicks is definitely increasing in tightening intensity...

Just curious when this baby is choosing to come out....only 11 more days to go till my due date for me
  • I never did reply I posted that I was having contractions all day on January 3rd and that i couldn't sleep well I labored at home for 4 hours while hubby slept. Tried to sleep on couch contractions were to strong. Labored in shower for the warm water. Just rested on the couch while timing them. Eventually ran a warm bath and labored in there not very long because I was in pain woke hubby up at 3 am and said it's time we need to go kinda cried a little because I didn't want to go and they say contractions weren't close enough or something. He got up got around grabbed any last minute things and left. Stopped by gas station grabbed drinks and snacks I didn't eat any of my banana he grabbed me. Times contractions all way to hospital they were anywhere from 2-3 mins apart. Got to hospital slowly walked in they put me in wheelchair wheeled me to labor and delivery hooked me up got me put in system said this would be just for observation to make sure contractions are close enough and that I'm in labor. She said oh yeah you will be having a baby today once she saw how close they were. Eventually after getting in the system etc they came and checked me (contractions were 2 mins part) I was already at 5 cm dilated. We called my mom hubby's mom my mom showed up first she had been waiting for that call since I said I was crampy all day. I progressed up to 9 1/2 really fast as I laid there trying to rest cause I hadn't slept at all. I did get the epidural probably about an Hr after being there because I was in pain and couldn't sit still and rest. So once I was at 9 1/2 cm they checked me and had half a cm on my cervix that did not want to dilate it took like a good 6 hrs for that 1/2 cm to dilate to where I could push we tried a few different positions like leg in a stirup which caused me pain and had to get another round of my epidural because it had already been in my system for like 8+ hrs so it began to wear off. I pushed for like 3-4  hrs on my own with nurse and hubby (eventually could feel contractions just enough to know when to push without them telling me one was happening.) Then finally my doctor came in which was a different doctor than I had planned which was upsetting my doc was not on call that night or something she came right in got right in there and had me start pushing she said I'm going to have to use suction because my babygirl head was not decending it was basically stuck . ( daddy has big head) so she stuck her hands in there started to stretch me out on both sides which hurt stuck a cup feeling thing in there I couldn't see and had me push hubby held one leg my sis the other eventually nurses took my legs and literally jammed then so hard up towards my head. I pushed like 5-6 times maybe more with everything I had I kept saying can you see her head I could feel everything that was happening finally her head came out after tons of pushing then her shoulders and let me tell you the amount of pressure that was relieved once she was out from down there was amazing. I had a fever the whole labor so they cut the cord and began cleaning and suctioning also she had slight bowel movement they let daddy cut another part of the cord to get the feeling. They got placenta pushed out then for an hour after that the doctor stood there and pushed tons of blood out they thought I needed a transfusion because I lost so much blood. Eventually got to snuggle my babygirl and breastfeed her once doc was done pushing blood out and then sewing me back up I got second degree tears. Our daughter looked just like her daddy and now almost 4 months later is still his twin. Recovery was a little rough because I was so sore in my groin area from legs being shoved up I could barely move and my tailbone hurt so bad from all the pressure. Our daughter weighed 8 lbs 6 ounces and was 21 inches long. She had to stay two extra nights in special care nursery where she was the whole stay. Leaving her at the hospital was the hardest thing we ever had to do we would call the nursery before bed every night. They had her on antibiotics since I ran a fever whole labor and also my placenta came back with an infection in it not sure why they never really said so it was precautionary. She came home two days later after we had been discharged and we have now lived happily since.
  • Oh ya she was born at 5:58 PM on January 3rd 6 hrs before midnight which was her original due date (Jan 4th).
  • Wut?
