Happiness Thread *Week of May 1*

Today, Mexican food is the source of my happiness. The giant plate of chicken fajita nachos I just indulged in definitely contributed to my current state of  contentment.

    We finished painting our office yesterday and the new curtains and rug will go in today and the furniture arrives Saturday. One room down, 2 more to go!

    The kitchen stuff is all put away after the move, so at least one room in our house looks like a normal house and not a cardboard box warehouse.

    I also got my mom's Mother's Day gift, a Grandmother's Memories book, which is the same one she got for my grandma to fill out and give to me. It's my favorite thing I have from my grandma. So yeah, I might have some dust in my eye or something right now.

    I found my maternity clothes from last pregnancy that I thought were lost forever! Rather, DH found them in a box in my Mom's basement. We moved in with her for a month before our house was ready. Apparently, I moved that box into her house and forgot. Oops.

    But, hell yes to saving a bunch of money!

    I LOVED my Breastfriend pillow. Much better than a Boppie IMO.

    MH was laid off almost 2 months ago and got some good leads Friday at a job fair, and is really excited about job hunting this week. I am happy for him, and it made me happy! :)  He has been kind of down lately about it.

    That sounds awesome, how'd you find out about it? I'd love to go to something like that in my area, but I don't even know where to start on finding something like that.

    @CaptainPhasma I actually found out about it on Facebook. There's a blog called https://www.citymomsblog.com/ and there's different "sister blogs" for several different cities. Worth looking into - it was really cool.

    I am loving the weather, and am excited to be able to post!  I've been lurking for a week, even though the bump said 72 hours... I also had a great morning at work and was able to get all of the bills out for the last week that needed special attention.

    Just purchased our nursery furniture. We were very fortunate that both sets of parents offered to buy the items for us and split the cost. Such a great surprise!!

    Last week I was complaining to my friend about how bloated I've been feeling & how I don't fit in most of my regular clothes anymore. Today she surprised me with an adorable maternity dress from ASOS and I started getting weepy in the middle of our office. Then, my boss bought me french fries because I told him how much I've been craving them lately. Today is a good day.

     @Kaessi That sounds like such a cool event! I wish they had one in my area! And who doesn't love winning free baby swag.

    My husband and I are going away for the weekend, and that is seriously all that is getting me through this week. We are going to see Lion King the musical off-Broadway :)

    After all the crap we've gone through with our mortgage company, our Realtor called us today and told us we have a closing date of next Wednesday. I'm apprehensive about being happy until I have the keys in my hand, but I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    It's Cinco de Mayo and while I can't have a drink, give me ALL the queso!! (Safety Note: our Mexican restaurant's queso is fine to eat.) A big group of us are meeting up there after work!

    It's teacher appreciation week and every day this week the parents bring in so many treats/snacks/meals for us in the teacher's lounge. It's nice to feel appreciated, especially in the form of food for my grazing pregnant self! :D

    Ok I'm just really happy today.... We just ordered our crib. It should be here in 1-3 weeks!! I've been stalking PB Baby for a good sale for way too long.

    @mrszoess Those lullabies are giving me life! I can't wait to play them for my teen tomorrow! I've raised her on all sorts of music but 90's hip hop in particular is my ish and she's now crazy about it too.

    This week has mostly sucked six kinds of balls, but! We hired a doula that we really liked last night, and I got my quad screen results today and all looks good, so yay! That helps balance out the rest of the week's nonsense. Plus it's actually nice out for once, so bonus.
