tell me there are other GOT fans here please!
Spoiler Alert!
what did everyone think?!
I, along with the entire interwebs, have been anticipating this Jon story line so although I was excited, it was kind of anti-climactic. I actually like the crisis of conscious the Red Woman is having in that storyline more.
I loved the return of Bran and seeing young Hodor. Can't wait to see how that plays out.
Ramsey is psychotic. I had to leave the room for that scene.
Really enjoying the return of old characters and storylines like the iron islands and the northern conflicts. Especially because the centrality of the Lanisters bores me. They are not interesting enough to get as much screen time as they do.

I was kind of hoping Jon would warg into Ghost and go rip some throats out. But I will settle for him being brought back to life. I agree though, it was a little predictable.
I am SO glad they have gone back to the Iron island and I can't wait for the Kings Moot! I thought they were going to skip that whole story line after they never went back to it last season.
It was good to also get back to bran and the three eyed crow. Let's see more of them and less of the Lannisters...Cersie is not that interesting right now.
Ramsey Bolton is pure evil. I can't wait to see how they end up killing him. I have to assume it will be especially violent and gruesome. He deserves to be ripped apart by the Stark Direwolves. That would be amazing. Those wolves need some action.
Agree totally on the Lannisters, besides Tyrion. I want to see more Tyrion; he's a fantastic character and Dinklage is just a joy to watch in anything. And Jon... yeah, that was expected. They spent so long telling everyone "Oh yes, he's really dead. We're not lying! Totally carked it!" that it was ridiculously obvious that while he may have actually, for sure, been dead, he wasn't going to stay that way for long.
Not my favourite episode, for sure, but I find the first 2-3 or so of each season where they're just sort of bringing you up to date on each storyline are kind of meh. Should start getting good in the next couple of weeks as they really move the plot along.
Hard to believe that by the time this season wraps up, we'll all be in the second halves of our pregnancies.

Anyone else wondering why the child of the forest character now looks like a grown woman bird? That was strange to me. I like the creepy old kid thing they had going on the last time this group appeared. My H thinks it's supposed to be a different character but the voice is still small and childlike.
Ramsey just looks psychotic! I was shocked when he killed Roose. Not shocked about how he handled Roose's wife and the baby. He "Loved" Myranda and still fed her body to the hounds.
I'm wondering if Tyrion is actually the mad kings son- the dragons should have roasted him! And he does have one purple eye (at least in the books!)
Joffery is one of the most hated characters of all time. He was terrible! But he always had someone there to knock him down a few pegs and make him seem more like a child... His grandfather and of course Tyrion. Ramsey like Jofferey has no redeeming qualities and he doesn't have anyone that can knock him down.
Im still wondering how Sansa isn't suffering from horrible frost bite! And I am loving her with
Brienne.
I'm not that invest in the iron islands. So I don't have much to comment there.
i also think Brans flash backs might be setting us up for the R+L=J story line.
Tyrion is my favorite character on that show, I'm so bored with Cersei. Is she reformed, is she beaten down, what's the deal - don't care. Her son annoys me. He is a sitting duck and not just because of a prophecy, because the weak always fail. My favorite scene last night was probably Tyrion with the dragons, that was a nicely stressed scene.
I did clap when Jon came back finally but because I was tired of the shots of his dead body from above. We get it. Everyone knew what was going to happen. Let's stop acting like the sight of him lifeless is sad and not annoying!
I love that Sansa is back with Brienne of Tarth. I hope she crosses paths this season with Bran and Jon Snow.
Ramsey makes my skin crawl. As soon as they said it was a boy I knew he would kill Roose and the baby.
I hope some horrible things are in store for him.
Happy to see Jon Snow back, but totally predictable. I liked this version of the Red Woman. I couldn't stand her in previous episodes.
I feel like I need re-watch the last few episodes of Season 5. I'm confused as to what is going on with Arya Stark. I know she was struck blind as punishment for killing Meryn Trant, but I don't get what's going on now. Are they still trying to get her to move on from her identity?
Honestly, anything Ramsey does neither shocks not surprises me anymore. He's a psychopath, and I am always expecting some kind of violence in every single scene he's in. I'm surprised when he's in a scene without violence, TBH.
I want to see more of Danaerys. I really liked her storyline until things started falling apart in Mereen. @serenaxo84 super interesting theory about Tyrion being a child of the Mad King! I'm always interested in theories from people who read the books.
Like everyone else, I'm sick of how much air time King's Landing gets. The religious nuts freak me out - and I don't know why the Lannisters don't just mass murder all of them.
I also am entirely uninterested in Arya's new storyline. It's moving too slowly for me right now. How did she become blind? Did I forget something from last season?
1. He's aliiiiiiiiive!! So happy.
2. "That's what I do. I drink and I know things" Probably one of my favorite lines of the entire series.
3. Ramsey is definitely the actual worst. He makes Joffrey look like Tommen.

I thought the "Tyrion is the son of the Mad King" was a well known theory. It is all about him, Jon Snow (R+L=J theory) and Daenerys being Targaryens and the three heads of the dragon from the prophecy. That is why everyone was losing their minds thinking Jon was dead, because it would ruin that theory.

And, I'm super excited to see what Sansa does this season! It's about time she had something go her way.

I cannot follow the Aria storyline at all. What the fuck is going on? Why does she want to be faceless? What??? I don't get it.
I'm also thinking that Littlefingers tidbit about the Blackfish reserecting an army might be a lie. He can't be trusted and Sansa might be sending them into a trap... And she wasn't honest with Jon about where she got the information. As we saw on the previews etc. Pod and Brienne make their way onto a Lanister camp... Wondering if that is at Riverrun. I'm can't figure out Littlefingers main agenda here.
why does the Tully guy (cat's brother) even care about his wife (whom he only knows from their wedding day and who's family thereafter captured him) and son (whom he merely sperm donored at this point. Doesn't know him, hasn't met him, and his wife's family has captured and tortured him)???
And why did brienne run away with pod? If the goal was to get them to lay down their arms peacefully and join sansa's army.... Why didn't she try talking with cat's brother about that after he entered the castle?
and thank goodness dany is back in mereen, but when is her story going to matter? When is she going to go to westeros?
I'm not sure why Edmure even cares. I think there is more to that and he has a plan? I think he also realizes that the Blackfish is being an idiot and everyone will die unless he does something to intervene. So I think he is cutting his losses at this point.
I think Brienne is fearful of having to choose between her honor and fighting against Jaime. She doesn't want to have to fight him and yet she wants to be true to Sansa. He knows that and so he lets her go. I get the feeling she wasn't 100% aware of what else was going on in the castle when she was leaving? Edmure also has no idea who she is and possibly could care less about what she has to say. I think it was a safe move on her part.
I think next week all hell is going to break loose in Mereen. I'm hoping for an epic battle and Dany will turn out to be such a badass (as usual). I think her story needs to collide with Theon Greyjoy and his sister before anything happens with her going to Westeros.
That's my 2cents. I'm sad this season is almost over
