I have been working really hard on eating healthy and exercising and finally lost a stubborn 5lbs in the last week. I was feeling so good about myself this am.

Im a visiting nurse and today one of my patients actually asked me "when are you due"

I wanted to crawl in a hole and die :(

Anyone else struggling with the baby weight??

Re: Well...that wasnt very nice..

  • Yes. At this point with DD1 I was back in jeans that fit me my senior year of high school...even smaller than I had been pre-baby. This time, none of my jeans fit and I'm living in leggings. I'm doing the exact same thing I did two years ago with DD1 which is just everything in moderation and not a damn thing is happening. I'm 28 now so I know my metabolism is different it just sucks. If one of my first graders says I look like I'm having another baby one more time I'm failing them! (Not really).

  • Yep. Also living in leggings here. Can't fit my wedding bands on which I hate. My husband and I are doing a 21 day sugar detox and we've both been feeling better overall and each lost about 5 lbs so far (on day 13). I've finally had energy to start working out again. I'm trying to do baby wearing workout classes but LO hates it so it hasn't been easy :( I feel like I'm never gonna fit back in my jeans.
  • I just hate the overhang and im oretty scared i wont be able to get rid of it after a csection. It was just so discouraging after all my hard work.
But i guess ill just keep on trucking along.

    Leggings solidarity!!!!
  • Same here. My other two I lost all the weight by six months and was back in all my jeans by 4 months. This time I'm still up 20lbs (I gained 25 those pregnancies but 40 this time). I'm six years older than I was last time (20 last time and 26 this time) so I'm sure it's my metabolism being different but gah! I started running on nice days with Damien in the jogging stroller. I have one year until my wedding dress goes in for alterations and I need to be where I want to be by then!
  • @KristynLee15 first of all CONGRATS on the 5 pounds!!! That is a huge accomplishment !!

c section mama here with the dreadful overhang as well .. We share the same fear of never being able to lose it

I'm so sorry someone asked when you were due  that would totally have made me cry.

  • I'm a c-section mom as well, the lower pooch I hate, it's like it won't go away. At 5 months I was finally able to get into pre-pregnancy jeans, but they are still tight. I've been working out pretty solid now for a month, but still have about 10lbs to lose until my pre-pregnancy weight. I gained about 40lbs and I heard so much "oh don't worry breastfeeding will burn so many calories". The weight came off so fast in the first few weeks but is slow going now.
Geez, don't people know that's so inappropriate to say to a woman.

  • Is the pooch bc of a c section? Not that I've actually been trying to lose the weight since I went back to work but I was wondering why that area never got any better.
  • I have the pouch as well...ugh and I definitely need to lose this weight...good luck moms
  • I'm sure moms that haven't had a C-section also have the pooch but it's harder to return those muscles once they've been cut through. This weekend was terrible for my diet we have a couple birthday parties we had to go to back to the grind tomorrow

I lost all my baby weight and then some fairly quickly, but I still have a c-section pooch. I've fully accepted my new body though, and I'm pretty proud of all the amazing things it's been capable of.

THIS! Same with me @chein1 I was 24 when I had my son and I bounced right back like two weeks later and by six weeks I was smaller than ever. This time around (I'm 28 as well)...not so much. Leggings with long flowy tops, lightweight sweaters and cardigans all day, everyday for work during the week. Oh, and yoga pants on the weekends.

Black leggings are the new "Little black dress"!

I'm a few pounds under my pre pregnancy weight, yet still none of my clothes fit properly! Where the heck did I lose that weight from? My ear lobes?
  • @carmv01
Good for you!!! I so wish i could be more proud than ashamed of my body. Im definitely proud and amazed at what it did, but i dont do well with change lol
