What's new with baby (size, development): size of a golden snitch or Lego Man! major organs have developed, and I might be able to hear baby on a Doppler at the doctors office if I was going anytime soon!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: nothing at the moment, though I ordered some more dresses yesterday that aren't maternity, but should last for me for the next few months, I think.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: nausea is still awful and more headaches this week. It's actually gotten worse. Exhaustion has also kicked up, but I figure the nausea is probably exacerbating that.
When is your next appointment: Friday the 13th
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? Oh goodness, only one? I love so many. Okay, I'm doing one of each. Board game - Pandemic and Card Game - Shanghai Rummy (it's a progressive rummy variant that my family plays!)
Me: 30 DH: 32 ~~ TTC #1: Sep 2015 ~~ BFP: Mar 2016 ~~ Daughter: Nov 2016 TTC #2: April 2018 ~~ BFP: May 2018 ~~ EDD: January 2019
The cutting and pasting drives me crazy. Hard to get it un-bold on my iPad when I am typing the replies. So I am just going to wing it :-)
Week 13 here. Glad to be officially out of the first trimester!
Still feeling gross about food sometimes but it seems to be easing up a little and I can drink water without feeling sick (it still makes me burp though!)
Next appointment is technically not until late May but the dr had to run out for an emergency midway through my first appointment so she is supposed to call me to finish the intake stuff over the phone. She implied she might do so today but I haven't heard yet.
Favourite game is Scrabble :-) It's the only one I am any good at :-)
What's new with baby (size, development): the baby is the size of a lime!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Looking at maternity clothes. Haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have 1 pair of pants I bought before my Mc that I can pull out in a pinch this week if need be! Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I mentioned this in some other threads, but my panorama came back with no results. Redrew blood yesterday, but I suspect that this draw won't be much better. Trying to decide if I should ask for a CVS if it comes back with no results or redraw again, go through the regular first tri screening and possibly get an Amnio. I was really hoping to announce at work before I started showing, but that's not looking too likely these days.
When is your next appointment: NT scan on May 10th, but we may need to push that back if the Panorama result isn't back yet.
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? We are pretty into Cards Against Humanity these days!
What's new with baby (size, development): Baby is the size of a lemon according to TB, or about 3 inches
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I bought a couple of cheap maternity dresses the other day from Walmart's website. They're not the traditional stretchy maternity material, but I do have a bit of room on them so I expect them to last for a little while.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I found out the hard way that baby doesn't like pizza rolls, but I can still eat pizza with no problem. Also, I think it would be nice if there was some kind of agreement on when the 2nd trimester officially starts. I've read that it starts as soon as the 13th week does, then I've read that it starts at the end of week 13. The lack of agreement isn't keeping me up at night, but I do find it kind of annoying.
When is your next appointment: May 13th
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? I like all kinds of games, but right now I'm into Phase 10 for card games. And Monopoly has always been a favorite of mine, even though it has led to some extremely long games and hilarious family arguments.
What's something you're doing to get ready for baby?: Trying so, so hard to find baby names that feel right. I'm obsessed with Elijah but I feel weird about it bc DDs name also starts with "E", and I love Daniel but hate Dan and Danny. I have an approximately 10 way tie for first place on the girls' list.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I have horrible headaches every day lately on top of the nausea, dizziness, and exhaustion. Also the nausea is getting worse. I haven't been hurling yet but I think it's going to start soon. That's the way it happened with my last pregnancy.
When is your next appointment: Blood draw for the MaterniT, meeting with the genetic counselor, and an ultrasound on Thursday. Also DH is going to announce to his work that day, which I'm really excited for even though I won't be there.
GTKY: Ok so we're board game freaks. All time favorite, I would say Risk, but my husband won't play with me anymore because I always kick his ass (he claims the dice don't like him). Anyway probably Monopoly. Our high school friends always do a monopoly game when we get back together. There's also a Firefly themed version of Clue that's awesome though. They've altered the rules a little to make the play time faster and to make it a fun game for just 2 players, so DH and I sometimes play that together.
@chloe97 fx this panorama draw comes back with wonderful happy results!
@mrsdho11 Shanghai rummy?! Explain! I love rummy variants
Week: 12 (I moved from Tuesday to Saturday check in) What's new with baby (size, development): A plum I think What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Well, we know she is a girl. I picked up her first pink baseball glove. Now we are just tryin to figure out names Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Now that all the horizon and panorama test came back good I am a lot happier mentally. When is your next appointment: May 3rd GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? I was in adderal most my life except for when pregnant. So about 20 years. I came off it 2 years ago and have not been able to sit and play a board or card game since. I go to Vegas a lot and play craps. Does that count?
@ficbot - congrats on second tri! And I'm so glad you're starting to feel better about food and water. It gives me hope! @chloe97 - yeah, I bought some non-maternity things that I'm hoping I'll be able to stretch to be useful through most of the second tri, and then again post-baby for a while. I'm hoping to buy a minimum number of *actual* maternity things. @xiphos13 - pizza rolls were my go-to in the first few weeks of ms, but the last 2-3 weeks if I even smell them (so if H makes them), I get really sick. Although this past week pizza has become a no-go for me as well. @SRose109 - Well, you're still way further along the name process than me, if that helps you any to know! And I hope you never get to the vomiting stage. @NatashaSprout - The baseball glove sounds so cute! And I'm glad you're feeling happier!

We briefly started talking names. But realized quick we can agree on boy names much easier! I'm also going to get out my maternity clothes this week. I only have 3 pairs of jeans that fit comfortably.
I am so tired lately. I've been asleep by 9 for the past week. Feel bad for DH. He has been picking up my slack with DS and our new puppy.
Next appointment and 1st with he midwife is the 5th.
Fave games: Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity
Married Nov. 3rd, 2012 DS Born 12/20/13 #2 EDD 11/20/2016
@SRose109 - So basically everyone is dealt 11 cards every round. You can buy three times, so take the top discarded card and the top draw card for a gain of +2 cards. So you'll start with 11 cards and can only ever have 17 cards max (well, plus one when you draw at the beginning of your turn). Early hands you can play without buying, but later you cannot. You always have to be able to discard after you play your hand down.
You start with a hand that take 6 cards to play, and then it increases by one every hand until you get to a 15 card hand. I don't have the "official" list here, but I think I've recreated it correctly from memory. I feel shitty though, so I could be wrong.
A set is all the same number (any suit, duplicate suits are okay), and a run is a straight flush (so consecutive cards, same suit). Deuces are wild.
Round 1 - two sets of 3
Round 2 - one set of 3 and a run of 4
Round 3 - two runs of 4
Round 4 - three sets of 3
Round 5 - one sets of 3 and a run of 7
Round 6 - two sets of three and a run of 5
Round 7 - three runs of four
Round 8 - set of three and a run of 10
Round 9 - three sets of 3 and a run of 5
Round 10 - three runs of five
Once you have the indicated hand, you can play it. You can never play additional sets or runs of your own. Your goal is to run out of cards by playing on your own cards and those of others who have played. You get points for whatever is left in your hand at the end of each round, and low score wins at the end of the game.

What's new with baby (size, development): thesize of a raspberry
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing specific, we recently moved so I'm still unpacking and going veeeery slow.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I'm just miserable. All the time. Even when I'm not super nauseous I just feel like my body aches. Not like fever aches, but it focuses on my abdomen area and radiates out.
When is your next appointment: May 17th
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? I just enjoy the social aspect of games, so I'm not too picky. If it's a good group of people most games can be fun.
@NatashaSprout my husband is a huge baseball fan and has already told me he has strong feelings about the pink hats :-) He would love for us to have a girl, but she's getting her tiny ball cap in the proper team colors :-)
@ficbot I played softball my whole life until injured in college abruptly destroying my life(but that's another story). I'm already pricing our own batting cages for the back yard. Too soon?
What's new with baby? Size of a strawberry, joint's are beginning to form/function
Something new to get ready? Nada
Rant/Rave/Symptoms/Questions: Eating has gotten a bit easier. I'm not nauseated/having total food aversion 100% of the time. My nausea seems to be worse in the evening. Thus far, we've told my mom and best friend, a coworker I'm close with and my boss. We'll probably tell my in-laws on Mother's Day and announce publicly after my next appt. around 13 weeks.
Next Appt? May 17
GTKY: I used to love Taboo, Trivial Pursuit & Phase 10. Recently, I've been introduced to The Game of Things & Cards Against Humanity. CAH makes me feel like a dirty, horrible person, but I've never laughed so hard in my damn life.
What's new with baby (size, development): I think it's a plum this week?
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Nothing yet. Although we finally told our families today.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Nothing really. I had the NT scan yesterday and everything looks good. I'm still puking regularly but feeling better throughout the day.
When is your next appointment: May 18th, though I will be speaking with the doctor prior to that. (he calls weekly to check up because of certain factors)

When is your next appointment: In 4 weeks

What's new with baby (size, development): Size of a lemon!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I found some cute maternity pants at The Treasure Store (Goodwill - I love that place!) but that's about it
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I think my symptoms are calming down a bit, but every time I say that I need to eat my words. Last week I puked in the bathroom and I guess the smell (so gross, I know!) alerted someone and they notified infection control and my manager was on high alert until I finally fessed up that I am the puker and it was only because I am pregnant. We had a nasty strand of Norovirus hit us this winter (30+ nurses were out with it!! So, so gross!) and I guess the fear of it coming around again is still strong!
When is your next appointment: Monday for my NT scan and Thursday with my MW. I'm also now on pelvic rest after some scary bleeding I had on Friday. I'm hoping they'll be able to rule out a Placentia Previa or something more scary at my ultrasound on Monday, until then, I'm super afraid to look at my underwear every time I go to the bathroom. What a scary experience!
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? My husband and I really like Pandemic, too! We even bought the iPad version so we could play on our last plane trip and it's great!
I promised myself I wouldn't be last this week, but I probably am again
Week: 12
What's new with baby (size, development): size of a plum
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: we found out we are having a boy. We had hoped we would. But now the name we had picked (Lawrence -after my grandfather who passed away when I was little) feels too difficult. I want to be satisfied with a nickname before I commit. But I feel trapped in the name since I told my dad and my hard core miltiary dad cried for the first time I had ever seen.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: not much. Having a lot of stretching and ligament pains that I so fondly remember from my dd. Trying to think of them more as a sign that the baby is getting bigger.
When is your next appointment: may 2 for the nt
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? We are big on board games - but super nerdy ones. Currently seven wonders is the family favorite.
Baby is size of a strawberry and has all major organs which seems more "real" somehow.
Not doing much to get ready for baby that's baby specific, but we are trying to quickly knock out the unfinished projects around the house, so I think that counts.
Rant would be the all day urkiness. I often feel like it would be better to just yack, but I hate vomiting so I try to keep it under control. Food rarely sounds good but I am hungry, so I just force feed myself at the appropriate times.
Next appointment is wed with the ob. We've been going to the fertility specialists til this point, so I'm anxious to know our plan going forward and when we can get the nipt testing done.
Cards against humanity is the best worst card game ever. lol.
Aw, man. I really miss the Saturday crew. Can I come back here next week even though they changed my due date? I feel like I don't know anyone on Wednesday...
What's new with baby (size, development): Size of a lemon (2nd trimester, here I come!)
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I really haven't done anything to get ready for this baby (I have all summer to plan that out)
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My belly is really bloated in the afternoon and night.
When is your next appointment: May 31st (I'll be 17 weeks by then)
GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? I'm not a big card game player, but anything from Old Maid, UNO or Poker.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We had a party yesterday to tell all of our friends about baby. We also had family there so we did a surprise gender reveal - we're having another girl! It was a surprise for us, too, so it made it really fun. Now we get to seriously start thinking about names.
Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I'm completely exhausted but that is likely from the business of the party yesterday and a 10k I ran this morning. Had a glorious nap this afternoon
@maggmagoo21 that's awesome you ran a 10k this am! You're my hero. I woke up super early while the kids were asleep thinking I was going for a long run...I made it 2 miles. What kind of sports bra are you using? My boobs just ache when I run now.
@NatashaSprout, I use a Moving Comfort that probably doesn't fit properly anymore but is functional. My boobs started aching around 4.5 miles but it wasn't terrible. The nap I took this afternoon, though, was epic and I haven't had on a bra since I got home from the race
Aw, man. I really miss the Saturday crew. Can I come back here next week even though they changed my due date? I feel like I don't know anyone on Wednesday...
@MissAmeliaPondI'm on Wednesday now too. I was so sad to leave the Saturday crew. I am hoping I get bumped up (at least a little) at my OB appt this week. 4 or 11 days would be great so I could be back to Saturday.

Cards against humanity is the best worst card game ever. lol.

ETA Congrats on a girl!!!
