Re: Sunday Ticker Change 5/1

  • Week: 10! So excited to be in double digits

What's new with baby (size, development): a strawberry that is starting to look like a baby! And about to start a big growth spurt!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I am flying home this week to tell my dad in person. After that we will go public with it. Still not sure if I will do a Facebook announcement or just spread it by word of mouth.
I also had my first appointment on Thursday. Everything looked great and baby was measuring right on track.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I had all the emotions yesterday. It felt like full blown PMS. I felt on the verge of tears all day long for no reason. That was my first day of being all weepy. I have been having a lack of interest in healthy food, which is annoying. Nothing sounds good at all. And I have been oh so tired.
My husband is telling his sister we are expecting today. She has been dealing with losses and infertility and he is very nervous about how she will react. She knows we were trying, so I hope she had prepared herself for it.

When is your next appointment: 2 June and I have blood work and genetic testing tomorrow.

GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)?
Our family game is Trivial Pursuit. We always played it on the holidays and after big family meals. It would get super intense as my entire family is very competitive. I mean, my sister was on Jeopardy if that tells you anything!

  • Week: 13! Goodbye first trimester!!!

What's new with baby (size, development): growth spurts, about the size of a peach or a matchbox car

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: starting to feel better, so we're working on cleaning out the house of all the junk we have.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: rant: morning sickness/food aversions still showing up randomly, but at least they're not everyday all day.  Rave: we are finally letting our guard down a bit and getting more excited each day.

When is your next appointment: fri, 5/6

GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)?  Our friends started having kids a few years ago, so we've started giving random board games as gifts now at the holidays. No favorites specificallt, but always fun to see what new games are out there.

    Week:  11

What's new with baby: lime sized?  That just makes me what a corona. Or a margarita. Or a tequila shot. But I digress...

What's something new you are doing to get ready for the baby:  I'm not doing anything until I get the results from Tuesday's nipt. About all I've done is look at the amount of crap in maybe baby's bedroom and felt a little overwhelmed!

Rant/rave/symptoms/question:  I finally had stopped bleeding after 5 weeks.  Had 4 blissful blood free days.  Then I had a sleepgasm last night and I'm spotting again.  Grrrr.  I guess on the plus side I'm not freaking out about blood anymore.  It's just my version of normal.

When is your next appointment:  Tuesday is my first official prenatal appointment, as opposed to the weekly paranoid US.

GTKY:   Probably cranium or taboo.  Hmmm, I hope that gets replaced with candy land or don't spill the beans.
    Age:  39 and holding
    Unexplained infertility
    NTNP: 10 years!
    TTC: Since 2014
    5 IUI:  BFN
    IVF 1:  MC
    IVF 2:  BFP!  DD 11/20/16

  • Week: 13!

What's new with baby (size, development): lemon,  I think!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: DH and I had a really good discussion about planning for the future, who would be guardian if something were to happen to us,  etc. DH really hates talking about this stuff,  so it was great to get a plan set.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I'm feeling pretty great,  actually. Going on a business trip tomorrow... Got super lucky that the owner is headed to the same location at the same time, so rather than  a 4 hour drive,  I get to tag along on his private jet (I've been assured that it's not nearly as exciting as it sounds,  but I'm still pretty freaking excited about it). Anyways,  I have this irrational fear that my m/s will return while I'm on a tiny plane with my company's execs.

When is your next appointment: may 13!

GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? We play a TON of games as a family. In fact,  DH had to work all day yesterday,  so I chilled with my parents and played cards all afternoon. I really like one called 'hand and foot' also a fan of international rummy

  • Week: 13

What's new with baby (size, development): The size of a lemon! Is starting to make more sudden movements that STM can probably pick up but I, as a ftm, cannot.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Drinking oceans worth of water and peeing nonstop.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My appetite is still gone. I can't stomach anything that is hot. Not hot meals only fresh fruits, sandwiches and barely that even. I'm down 8 pounds.

When is your next appointment: may 2nd. Tomorrow? I think.

GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? Cards Against Humanity is the best thing to ever happen to the card playing world.

    Week: 12

What's new with baby (size, development): plum? scoop of protein powder - that can't be right, that better be a ladle sized scoop. Over 2.1 inches crown to rump, there ya go.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: window shopping all the girl's clothes. No confirmation yet, just a hunch. Building an Amazon list.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: nausea is at  an all time low, woohoo! The odd smell will make me do a double take though. Husband making our son eggs for breakfast made me run out of the kitchen.

When is your next appointment: TOMORROW! I get to see our LittleOne tomorrow! Nuchal Translucency screening, bloodwork, all that jazz. Meeting with a specialist about all my health history. Going to try to get the Harmony test approved.

GTKY: What's your favorite board or card game (past or present)? I LOVE Balderdash. Making up definitions for obscure words is my jam. I love fooling people. Although Solitaire has sucked hours from me. And nothing beats 5 card draw. My Dad taught me when I was 5 years old. I can't wait to teach my babies.

Thanks @HeyBooHey for doing the ticker today! I am a bit ridiculous in how much I look forward to cranking the dial a week.

  • Week: 11

What's new with baby (size, development): size of  Lime, growing like crazy! Teeth, hair, and nails are begging to form! Crazy!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: DH and I finally agreed on a boys name last night. We have a ton of girls names picked out but couldn't agree on boys. For some reason that was really bothering me! Also just cleaning out junk from our spare room so it can be a nursery. It needs to be done regardless though.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: MS was the worst last week. I gagged when taking my vitamins because it got stuck in the back of my throat....and then I ended up puking. It is the only time I have actually vomited. It annoys me that taking a vitamin is what caused it.

When is your next appointment: Wed! 5/4

GTKY: What's your favourite board or card game (past or present)? My family plays a ton of board games! We have played the crap out of Settlers of Catan. Frankly I am so tired of it. I also love Carcassone and lately we have been playing Code Names. All super fun games!
