Hello out there! I'm a FTM due October 25th. I'll be taking 12 weeks of leave from work after baby is born, then I will return full time early 2017. My mom will to stay and help for 2-3 months, so I don't need daycare until March or April 2017. I have no idea where to start looking for daycare centers! Is there a good resource online that lists what's out there?
I've heard about wait lists and non refundable deposits from other moms I work with, and I have so much anxiety. My husband is a medical student at BU starting his fourth year, and we don't know 100% if we'll be staying here for residency or not until March 17th, 2017 (Match Day). Has anyone had a similar up in the air situation that has allowed them to negotiate getting out of the deposit? I'm worried about putting down a chunk of money and losing it if we have to move. Thank you for your suggestions!
Re: Daycare Help! How do I start my search in Boston?

The NAEYC website lists certified providers; NAEYC accreditation is much more stringent than what the state requires. https://www.naeyc.org/accreditation/search
However, you can still find a great provider who is not NAEYC-accredited. A good place to start is the state registry: https://www.mass.gov/edu/birth-grade-12/early-education-and-care/find-early-education-and-care-programs/
Also, since your husband is a student, there may be child care centers near BU that give you preference and/or discounts. Worth checking out!
