Tuesday was my daughters second birthday. It was also the day ds was home sick from school and I was at my worst with a tummy bug. MIL called my phone about 6 times in the afternoon. I didn't answer, or call her back. I'm sure she wanted to say happy birthday to dd, but I wasn't up to trying to speak Spanish over the phone or deal with her questions about my pregnancy. I justified it with the fact that's he could always just call her son that night and he could deal with it. She's probably mad at me now.
@laurenm2123 I did the same thing. But on one of my registries, there's a "thank you" option that shows you WHO bought what... I have zero self control.
Totally guilty of the registry checking.....my mom got upset with me lol.
My FFFC is....I have my "replacement" training with my today and although she's here to help it's just annoying me cause she asks a million questions. I know it's a lot to take in, but I'm just really not in the mood to have a shadow and someone asking me a million questions. I just want to be left alone to do my own work.
FFFC: My mom ordered new wedding bands and had them shipped to me. (She lost her rings over a decade ago, and my dad gave her money to buy a new ring like 5-6 years ago for their 25th wedding anniversary, and she never picked one out. It's taken me almost 6 months to get her to commit to these rings, and they're gorgeous.) Since they're coming up for the weekend and they required a signature for delivery, it made sense to ship them here since Friday is my work from home day so there's someone here all day. She asked me to open the boxes to check that they looked ok. I am currently wearing them. They're so pretty and sparkly!
I had a huge pan of brownies on Wednesday. They were gone by yesterday morning. Yup, I ate a whole pan of brownies. (DH and DD both maybe had 2 pieces)

I ate 3 oatmeal cream pies for breakfast because why not? And I'm getting a frappuccino on my way to spending the afternoon with my mom. No shame.
Oatmeal is considered a good choice for breakfast....and the filling has some dairy in it, right? So there you go, it can be justified as a healthy choice for breakfast.
@Diesel615, I hear ya loud and clear! I'm training my temp as well. We brought her on board temporarily last Fall when we needed an extra help and once she understood the task at hand, she was fine but getting her to that level was a very long process. Now that she's taking on my entire workload, it's been....tiring. I don't doubt her ability to get the job done, it just means I'm working (and stressing) more than ever to get her to a good place before I leave.
@MeganF08, totally guilty of this! My excuse is that I like to know when things may potentially be delivered to my home (I live abroad so a lot of registry items are being shipped directly to me).
My FFFC: There's an amazing bakery around the corner from my office, they also do homemade ice cream. I enjoyed a freshly baked croissant and some dark chocolate ice cream after lunch today. I also ate one of their delicious chocolate praline whatevers on Wednesday night, divine!
I feel the ladies training their temps! I've been working with mine since JANUARY. He's just now barely able to do some things unsupervised. He is NOT the brightest crayon in the box....
im pretty much positive I will come back to a bunch of shit that was done wrong that I will have to fix....
my FFFC: I'm entirely too snarky with him. But DAMN he gets on my nerves! You want to ask how to do the same thing 15 times over the course of two days? HOW ABOUT YOU WRITE DOWN WHAT I TELL YOU?! This job is not rocket science....
My temp is following me around with a notepad and pen and writes down EVERYTHING I say and STILL asks the same questions. I'm like WTF are you writing in that notebook?? Thankfully I have found a task she's getting the hang of and has kept her at another desk for most of the day, but she still occasionally pops up around the cubicle to ask random questions.
This is going to sound judgmental, and that's because it is, but anyway, here's my confession.
I have a landlady who is a nurse and a mother to a 6 yo. She has a serious addiction to cigarettes, and I hate when she visits my home because the ciggy smell lingers long after she's gone. And if that's not enough, she loves tanning. Picture trump orange skin - and I know it's a tan and not a spray on because she mentioned she was late to the tanning salon one time.
Anyway, as a NURSE who knows people are dying of cancer - why why why are you smoking and tanning?

I worked with multiple respiratory therapists who smoked their faces off and went in and took care of people's trachs. Like that isn't COMPLETELY counterintuitive.
I literally want to throat punch everyone who rings my doorbell. I'm all over here "leave me the F alone!!!!" Especially when they wake my kids then it is game on!
