The 10 thing Tuesday is doing ok though. And we had an AW Wednesday thing a while back that people liked. A green light to AW yourself or whomever. I think a Thankful Thursday thing would be nice. Even out that we all have great things too...
Just a thought. ..We could do a thankful Thursday.
I started a Woot Wednesday for stuff like that about 2 months ago and it wasn't terribly popular. So a Thankful Thursday probably wouldn't be either
I think we tend to like the juicy stuff (Up, Fffc) on a regular basis. The thankful thuradays etc are nice everyone in a while. But it get super repetitive and a little too sunshine and rainbows for my taste lol
My personal opinion on TWs is that, regardless of whether I have no problem with reading about loss or another tough subject - it does not mean that no one else has trouble reading about it on any particular day. How many times have I seen someone mention that they had to skip over the loss TWs because they couldn't handle that on a particular day? Dozens of times. Why would I want to take that option away from them?
As for the mention of a TW for mentioning children, I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again - we agreed as a community last year that we did not require TWs for children. The only reason they're used now is because of newer members, and the only reason they continue to be used is because no one corrects others and mentions that a TW for children is not needed. Correct it, and it stops. Don't correct it, and it continues. Simple as that.
I have been fortunate that I have not suffered a loss, I have not been diagnosed with IF, I have not had a horrible TTC day where seeing someone else's BFP has brought me to tears. I have been fortunate in that thus far. For many women, that TW is the difference between being able to make it through the thread, and not being able to make it through one post without breaking down. That's enough for me to stick to TWs when needed. I'd rather have someone skip over my post and make it through the thread or the day than read my post and have to stop.
