Fundal height measurement?

I had my 23 week appointment on Tuesday and have yet to be measured. I'm a STM and cannot remember when the dr. began measuring with my daughter. Is this not done until the third tri? When did you start having your uterus measured?

Re: Fundal height measurement?

  • My OB started measuring mine at 12 weeks.
  • Loading the player...
  • I got measured around 22, but I asked a question about it.  So not sure if thats normal.  They did measure at 25 weeks because I was having u/s.  They said no reason to measure if I was having u/s
  • Mine measured at my last appointment for the first time. I think I was 22 weeks.

  • My OB just started measuring at my last appointment when I was 25 weeks.
  • I was measured at 22 weeks but only because she was checking me with the Doppler anyway and figured she might as well measure. It didn't sound like they normally do it that early.

i dont remember when they started measuring with DS
  • 20weeks which was last month and yesterday that i went i have measuring a whole week and half further so i had to get an ultrasound done to see what is going on but it is just a big headed long legs little girl i am carrying :) my princess is taking after daddys side
  • I was measured for the first time at 22 weeks.

  • I was measured the first time at my last appointment but my dr doesn't even mention the measurement really.
  • I had an appointment yesterday at 23 weeks and it was the first time my doctor measured.
  • I didn't have one at 20 weeks but did at 24. Doctor didn't say anything about it.

  • My first measurement was at 25 weeks.
  • I was measured at my last appointment at 24 weeks. 24 cm and she said she would measure at my 28 week appt and I should be 28 cm at that time. It's funny because every time they have measured baby, whether this way or when they tell you how many weeks and days they measure at ultrasounds, she has measured exactly on schedule. My perfectly average little girl I guess, lol.

  • With DS1 I was measured starting at 20 weeks. I have a different OB this time and she didn't measure me at 20 weeks, but my 20 week appt and a/s were combined in one appointment this time (with my previous OB we had to do the a/s at a separate u/s lab). I go in for my 24 week appointment in a week and I would guess they will measure then.

  • I haven't been measured yet - unless I'm just totally spacing out (which is very possible!). I go back in two weeks at 27 weeks and presume it'll start then?
  • I got measured for the first time at my last appt, which about 23 weeks.  Before that my OB just felt for where my fundus was at that point.  I think that was pretty consistent with what they did last time, too.

  • I had my 25 week appointment today and this was the first time I was measured. She is measuring a week early. So I already have a growth ultrasound scheduled for June.
  • I had my last appt this past Wednesday, I'm just over 23 weeks and I measured 22 weeks. Dr said that was ok but that was th first time they've ever measured me.

  • I started getting measured at my 20 week appointment and was measured at my 24 week appointment earlier this week.
  • 20 weeks is the earliest that your fundal height measurement will tell you anything accurately, but you don't necessarily have to begin measuring then. My midwife started then and will measure each appointment, though.
  • My OB started measuring me at 20 weeks, and will measure at every appointment from there on out.
  • With DD they didn't measure me until I was in the third tri. This time they've measured me already starting at 22 weeks. I switched offices with this LO.
  • this pregnancy I was first measured at 23 weeks. I don't remember when they started last pregnancy.
  • I was measured for the first time today at 24 weeks and measuring 25. Grow baby girl grow! :)

  • I didn't even know what this was. Haha. It's with the measuring tape right? If so...my doctor did it the first time at 24 weeks. She didn't tell me anything though...so I have no idea about it. I think I should ask her about it next time. lol. FTM!!

If you mean when they measure you will the tape measure my doctor has been doing that since my 12 week appt. I also am having twins, so that might be standard for twins.
