Funny/Interesting Labor stories.

I thought it might be fun to post funny/interesting labor stories about you or people you know. The board has been a little slow!

With DD1, my water broke while i was walking through the mall by myself! Thankfully my contractions didn't start so i drove myself home.

The craziest thing I've heard is my friend who went into labor with twins at home and delivered them herself sitting on the toilet!

@emmeline714 My Dad was working for the first 24 hours of it (He's in law enforcement, and there was a situation he absolutely couldn't leave), so I think some of it was her trying to wait for him, and apparently they gave her a sedative and it completely stopped her labor, so she had to start over. The doctors wouldn't let that happen now! Most practices she would have had a c section.

  • The best one is my nieces birth story. My SIL went to the hospital and was only 3cm dialated so they sent her home. She labored for another couple of hours and then she told my brother they needed to go. It is a 20-30 min drive for them to the hospital. Her water broke in the car and she was pushing as they were pulling up to the ER drive up! My niece was born in the front seat of her parents car!
  • I had my mom and Dh in the delivery room. Each one had a leg. The hospital tries to avoid tearing so as my son would start to come out they pushed him back in.
Well he wasn't having that. When they stepped away to break down the table to decided to come out on his own. My mom had her hand on his head to keep him from falling out.
She likes to brag that she got to touch him first.

When I had DD, I stalled at 2cm for over 8 hours. My overnight nurse even had the audacity to tell me I wasn't having contractions and I wasn't in labor. When the OB came in for rounds in the morning and checked me I was still at 2. She told hubby if he wanted he could go home, shower, let the dogs out and rest because it was still going to be awhile. I got an epidural and situated back in bed. The OB checked me again and then told me to call hubby back here if he wanted to see baby born because baby was ready!! He hadn't even made it to our house 10 minutes away yet! Hubby walked in the door as the OB had me start pushing. 3 pushes and baby was out. A minute of baby being checked out and helped by nurses and hubby was puking in the bathroom! I have a feeling hubby may be late to this one of he doesn't stay in the room!

  • When I was in labor with DS1, I had horrible back labor, and as much as I wanted to go med free, I gave in and got Nubain in my IV. That Sh!t made me delusional and I was trying to tell the story of "The Tawny, Scrawny, Lion" (my DH's favorite story as a boy, and I had bought him a hardback copy for the day of delivery) I'm told that as I told the story, I told it such that the lion was eating everyone! I then decided to complain about the hospital, but just then the nurse walked in the room, so I said "This freaking hospital... has a freaking Green Valance!" Not sure why I cared about the window treatments!  I remember saying that one... telling the story completely wrong, I have no recollection of! LOL
