Winning Wednesday

I saw this on another BMB and thought we could try it. Let's talk about something that you did or that happened to you that made you feel great and like you're actually winning instead of just being exhausted and uncomfortable in these last few weeks.

Re: Winning Wednesday

  • I started organizing our mud room on my lunch hour yesterday. It had become the general dumping ground for pretty much everything (mostly thanks to my husband who never puts anything back where it goes). I got the floor cleaned up, the bottom two shelves and the all the crap that was in the utility sink put back where it goes. I'm doing the other shelves today on my lunch. WINNING!

  • I wasn't feeling good Wednesday and my DH knows how stressed I am about getting everything ready before the baby comes, so he reorganized the laundry room and DD's closet (that the baby will share) to make room for all the new baby items. He even cleaned their room from top to bottom. Yay DH!

  • My husband and I attended a concert Monday night to see one of our favorite bands and had a great time.

I didn't make it to bed until around 12:30am but I still managed to get to work on time on Tuesday and made it through my busy workday feeling pretty good. Granted, I crashed at about 6:30pm. ;) It was nice to do a night-out though!
  • @vintagevix86 I miss concerts. In my single days, I would go to one usually once a month. It was the main reason I was broke all the time, but the memories are so worth it. I just don't even have the energy to go anymore. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my life now and wouldn't trade DH or DD for the world, but I miss single me sometimes.

  • @vintagevix86 I was always going to concerts pre-pregnancy. Went to a metal concert back in Feb and I was exhausted by the end of it. My fiancé and I work at the same place so he covered my morning shift for me, I just couldn't do it. So definitely good on you, I'm impressed!

I took two out of three dogs to a self-serve dog wash yesterday. Number 3's bath is today. They're all mid-large size dogs so that makes me feel even more accomplished :).
  • Between pregnancy brain and my cynical mood I ready read "Whining  Wednesday" and got excited. Oh well sorry I can't think of a damn this to contribute today!

  • @dairygirl93 What was the band? We saw Behemoth  :) Amon Amarth is on Friday, can't wait! And bathing dogs is deeefinitely a win, I need to give our bullie a good scrub.

@Goocran17 My single days were also filled with concerts as well. After I met my husband, there wasn't much of a change since he's a frequent concert-goer as well. I had to really cut back on the concerts during the pregnancy, for cost reasons and lack-of-energy. I've attended 4 thus far though and made sure I had a seat to watch the show from as well. That helped a heck of a lot. I know concerts will be taking a backseat for a while once the kiddo comes along, but hopefully we can bring him too when he's ready, make it a family affair.
  • Haha! I would totally fit in with whining Wednesday today....

My success was not throwing a drink tray at the 50 something yr old guy who sexually harassed me, the clearly 35 week Preggo waitress. What part of my general appearance, tired and very pregnant, makes you think I would find you funny??? You want to creep on me while sitting at my table better throw a $50 down because $5 ain't gonna cut it buddy...
  • I actually felt like I accomplished a lot at work today for the first time in awhile! Got my storage closet in my classroom decluttered and organized for my maternity sub, finished my self eval for my annual evaluation, and got a ton of feedback and grades done for students. Ooh yeah, and taught 5 classes. Boom! All that demanded a nap after work though since it drained any energy I had left.
