I dont know the sex yet but I was at my monthly check up yesterday and this lady was commenting on how you can naturally select to have a boy or a girl, I got home and did some research and apparently it's true! There's a science to it, male (y) sperm swims faster and dies sooner while female (x) swims slower and lives longer. If you have sex right before ovulation or the day of, you're more likely to have a boy and if you have sex a few days before ovulation you're more likely to have a girl. Based on this, I should be having a boy, I'll let you know next week when I find out.
Unfortunately this was debunked. The Shettles method was done back in the 50's or 60's (not sure on the date) when further research could not conclude this true or untrue but since that time research has proven that under a microscope male and female sperm had no physical differences. The all swim at varying speeds and size only depends on whether the protective sheath covering the head of the sperm has been shed yet. I have heard that your diet can have an affect and whether your vagina is more acidic and basic can affect which sperm survive but timing itself has no affect. Sorry to burst your bubble!
Just got back from the ultrasound and we are joining team blue! Im not going to lie and say I was a little disappointed but I'm slowly coming around to the idea of a little boy. Husband is over the moon
We found out yesterday we are adding a 4th girl to our clan..Holland Joy will be here Sept 12th....my son and I were a bit disappointed to hear girl since we were praying for another boy to finish our family, but we are happy for a healthy baby.
It's a Girl!! I am still in shock that I got just what I wanted, to a have a boy first to be the big brother, then my little princess. I was so sure it was a boy, now I have to change my whole thought process and buy all new clothes (not that this is a bad thing ). My family and friends will be so excited! DH not so much, but he will come around, he's just glad that she's healthy.
@Mommato4blessings I come from a family of 5 girls and one boy. I love our family dynamic. It's a little dramatic but such a blast. My brother loves helping us if we ever need anything.

Thanks @mhilpisch10....I actually have 3 older brothers and then a half sister and brother...but I was just hoping for my son to have a brother. However I am getting g used to the idea of having 4 girls now.
I was finally able to add myself to the poll. Found out yesterday that our first baby will be a GIRL! We oddly knew somehow and so did almost all of my friends and family. This girl is going to be getting so much attention . All of my BFF's have boys lol. Her name is Jayde (possibly Jade....not decided on spelling yet) and we need to pick a middle name. She didn't move much during the anatomy scan and they couldn't get the spine and kidneys so we have to go back on Monday. Bummer....lol. I get to see my little girl again in just 5 days
We're officially joining team BLUE! We were told one baby was a boy and the other "might" be a boy at around 15 weeks, but just had it confirmed at the anatomy scan!

And the family name lives on, folks! *it's a boy!* 95% of family and friends guessed tram blue, I guess we all could tell. And he certainly isn't shy either! After reading about babies hiding from the scan, I feared leaving the appt not knowing. Within seconds, he left nothing to the imagination. Way to go, little dude!!!

Our family is all boys too, 4 grandsons on DH side and now one more. My MIL also only had two sons. This is the last grandchild on that side so I pretty much was their last hope for a girl lol.... But they will all have to deal with it because I'm so excited to be a boy mom
