Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? I've been browsing craft stuff like crazy, would love to start something maybe.
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? I was the first born of 3, and DH is... well... his dad has 5 children from his first wife and 6 from his second. DH is the 4th born of the second wife, haha.
We've talked about having 4 maybe, including our son we are trying to adopt.
How big is baby? Chipmunk, pomegranate, video game controller or creme brûlée
Upcoming appointments? none upcoming, but I had one on Thursday and found out we are having a little girl!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Just glad to be almost feeling better. I feel good as long as I eat often. Finally have my energy back too!
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? We ordered a crib and should get it in Thursday or Friday. We'll put it up the same day we get it.

How big is baby? An avocado which I love but currently don't love me.
Upcoming appointments? My next US is May 16, appointment May 17, but I need to get some blood work done this week...hopefully I don't forget.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I wish I would start feeling flutters already. I know it's my first so it usually takes longer to feel them, but this is the only thing I'm getting impatient about.
Do you have any baby plans this week? I started my baby registry already, which is exciting, so I'll keep adding to it, but I can't do the gender specific stuff yet as I won't find out the gender until the 17th appointment.
GTKY Family Size? Both of my parents are apart of large families. My dad is one of 7, and my mom is one of 13 (Newfie families). I only have one brother, and that's seems nice, so we'll probably go for 2, if we can have 2 (this one was a struggle to conceive).

Rants/Raves/Questions: STILL waiting on my Maternit21 test results it's been 2 weeks today since getting the blood work done. Growing VERY impatient. I just want to know everything is fine and we are excited to find out what we are having!!

We've started to get everything done in the house... we are redoing our office this week, new furniture will be next week and then getting the nursery all ready to go. Just need to know what we are having so we can start painting. Colors and themes are picked out for either gender. Can't wait!!
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? My moms side is big, she's 1 of 6 kids. So LOTS of cousins, some of which, I'm very close too. My dads side is a pretty big Italian family, but we aren't as close to them. As for my DH's family, it's not very big at all. Very small, only a few close relatives. We are only having one baby, being 36 and starting a little late in life, I want to be able to really enjoy raising our little one and give him/her everything we can possibly do. Not worried about the "only child syndrome" since being close with DH brother who has 4 kids and my cousins who have 1... we will be surrounded by kids.
TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year.

Rant: RLP sucks. I twisted the wrong way this morning and was in tears it hurt so bad. Labor is going to be a disaster haha
Rave: Only 3 weeks until we find out the gender!!!! Can't. Wait.
Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Nothing besides our appointment. But I'm obsessed with our registries...I'm a planner and need to feel organized somehow.

We both grew up with 3 kids in the family so it will be close to the same. I'm the oldest and DH is the middle. Interesting fact: Both of our families are 2 boys and 1 girl, with the girl being the oldest sibling.

Water retention kills me. I weigh every morning and hate to see unexplainable weight jumps. I feel like I'm eating a lot healthier this pregnancy but I'm gaining faster

Im sure I'll buy a gift for baby once I find out gender and probably start working on a registry. I didn't do a shower with my first child so were making up for it this time around

I want a small family. I was content with one child but now that we've been surprised with a second I'm happy with two but no more (after this I'm either going for an IUD or getting tubes tied so no plans at all beyond the 2nd child).
How big is baby? The size of an orange, which is appropriate, since I'm craving citrus all the time!
Upcoming appointments? Monthly check-up in three weeks. Can't wait to see baby again!

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? Nope. Right now I'm planning my son's first birthday party (The Very Hungry Caterpillar, because he loves that book so dang much,) and it's taking up all my extra time.
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? I'm from a family of six, and my husband is the oldest of four, and honestly I think four would be perfect. Affording four children would be a stretch though, so we will definitely wait a few years after this one is born to see whether we can handle more. (I know it's depressing to think about it so practically, but that's just reality! My family never had extras, and we were super happy and close and my mama made ends meet like a boss, so I know it's not absolutely essential to make money the primary judge of "will we or won't we have more kids?" but we live on one income...and a teacher's income to boot, so yeah, it's a big consideration.)

Upcoming appointments? Had my first one today and jammed out with my new midwives, I'm stoked! Next Tuesday is the dating scan and I can't wait for a real due date. My LMP date is 10/17 but I had an NIPT scan (elective one due to travel schedule) and the baby was measuring for 10/14. I'm keeping Monday ticker day until officially told otherwise.

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? I applied for a nursery spot today for this LO at the nursery my son attends. I was aiming for May 2017, following a six month mat leave. The current average wait time? 18 MONTHS! So even though I'm just in the second tri, the earliest I can get my fetus into nursery is around her first birthday. Ugh. It'll be fine, we'll figure it out, but seriously! I'd have to have applied while we were TTC to get in after six months. /endrant
GTKY: Do you want a big family or a small one? Is your choice different than the size you grew up with? DH is oldest of three, I'm youngest of two. This will be our second and we're probably done. I kinda want three but we live in London and kids are expensive so... We'll see.

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? OB appointment today, maybe finding a new support pillow tomorrow. I keep waking up with pins and needles in my right arm. I can't tell if it's from sleeping on my back (the position I find myself in when I wake up with pins and needles) or if I'm sleeping on my side funny and then rolling to my back and waking up when the pins and needles start.

My mom is one of many and there were always so many cousins to play with at family gatherings. Now, I'm pretty sure we're done with 2. My house can't really accommodate more than two, I don't want to have to tell my kids they can't go to whatever camp or class because I can't afford it since they all need new shoes for school. And, I don't think I could handle another miscarriage if we tried again.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm still not feeling that baby or really feeling pregnant so I'm still worrying all the time. I think I've finally found a combination that eases my headaches, very happy about that.

Do you have plans to do anything baby related this week? I need to clean out her room (It became our dumping ground during our move a month ago) so I can get the rest of the house in order. I'm counting that as getting ready for her.

I grew up with one older sister and my husband has two older brothers. We aren't close to his side of the family so that affected our choice to have babies closer together (he is like 10 years younger) so these two will be just under 2 and a half years apart.

Upcoming appointments? I had my checkup today! A week late for 16 weeks but oh well! I will have 20 week anatomy scan soon!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Hubby couldn't make the Drs today so my Mom surprised me and we got to hear the heartbeat! I was super nervous and I'm glad she got to go bc my anxiety was crazy about going alone! I don't know why!

Rants/Raves/Questions: I'm very thankful this pregnancy has been more like my first than my second. Very mild symptoms. That coupled with the fact that we still haven't announced are making it go by very quickly.

We're done after this one. We were going to be done after #2 and then this little surprise came along. Both DH and I have two siblings. His mom was an only child and his dad's family has lived on the west coast almost his whole life so we never see them. My family is huge. Mom has 5 siblings who each had at least 3 kids, dad has 4 that each had two or more, grandparents each have 6-13 siblings. Most of my cousins have 2 or more kids already. Family get-togethers are massive.

Just had one yesterday and got to hear a nice strong heartbeat! And, my blood draw for the quad screening is this Saturday.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Just a minor rave: I had real dinners (not something microwaved or a pizza which has been the case recently - thanks moving chaos!) on Sunday night and last night. It was the best! And I finally got to go to the grocery store, so the streak will continue!

Not just yet. We moved over the weekend, so putting things away is the main priority. But if I need a break I might hit up the yarn store and pick up some supplies for the pumpkin hat I want to knit.

Small, and it's not different. There's a 99.9% chance that this kid will be an only child. I feel a little bad about that because even though we didn't always get along, it was nice having my brother growing up (and now too). But the reality is I'm going to be an old mom as it is, so we'll just have to make sure s/he gets to know the neighborhood kids and has plenty of people his/her own age to play with.
