Re: Monday Ticker Change | 4.25

  • Week: 12!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like this is such a big deal.

What's new with baby (size, development): According to TB:
Your baby is as big as a plum
    • Most of baby's critical systems are fully formed!
    • Baby's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
    • Baby's now developing reflexes-if you poke his or her body, you'll likely see movement.
    • Baby's opening and closing fingers and curling toes too.
    • Baby's brain is developing fast!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  Well, we finally got the nursery all cleaned out and the carpets shampooed, but we won't be doing anything to it until we find out the sex.  We have also been stocking up on diapers.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  Other than indigestion and acid reflux at night, I've been feeling pretty good. I've been having a lot of RLP lately which isn't pleasant.

When is your next appointment:  Wednesday!

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? My four year old nephew lol.  He will tell you when you look 'beautiful' or when he doesn't like your hair or outfit. He told my BIL (his father) that he was fat lol.  He's brutally honest.  Also my mother.  She will tell you the truth about anything but always in the nicest way.

  • Week: 12! Man, where does the time go? :)

What's new with baby (size, development): He/she is the size of a plum and entering into the growth and maturation stage. I suppose this means it's time to start eating protein again..? It's been fun, carbs.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: H and I finally settled on a boy name over the weekend. (We've had a girl name picked out literally since the day after we got married.) We still won't find out which it'll be until the ~20 week ultrasound, but I'm happy to have a name I'm excited about either way!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: While new symptoms (RLP, blurry vision) have popped up in the last couple weeks, my first trimester symptoms do seem to be easing up. A few days this week I felt basically back to my normal self and even had the energy and stability-of-stomach to cook and do gross chores, like scrubbing out the bathtub. I'm still getting migraines more days than not though, which keep me from sleeping at night, keep me from focusing (or doing much of anything) during the day, and induce a significant amount of vomiting. I'm really hopeful that I can find a reliable way to manage them soon, or that they'll miraculously disappear...

When is your next appointment: Next Tuesday, but it should just be a quick check-in--no ultrasound or anything.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? Definitely my husband. He is always the first to admit any of his own mistakes, faults, or bad attitudes, and he's also incredibly direct toward everyone else. I grew up in a family that was all about saying what you were "supposed" to say and covering up any ugly thoughts or feelings, so marrying the man I did has been an extremely healthy and encouraging learning process for me.
  • Week: 11!

What's new with baby (size, development): Size of a lime. I was cutting a lime yesterday and I thought that's pretty big for a little baby!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We are finally going to start telling family this week. DH's family on Saturday and then my family the following weekend when we get to see them in person. I can't believe we haven't told anyone (outside of 2 close friends) so far. I think telling people will make it feel more real.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: My only rant/symptom is sciatica and it's terrible. My snoogle is helping some but hopefully my chiropractor and PT appointments this week will help make things better. I had to drop out of my half marathon for next weekend because I have barely been able to walk this past week, let alone run. Oh well, now I'm signed up for next year's.

When is your next appointment:  5/5, but going in for the Harmony test this week.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? One of my best friends from the last place I lived. She has no filter, which works with me, but not with everyone. I love her for it and she's the one I call when I need someone to tell me the truth.
  • Week: 12. This one always feels like a big milestone.

What's new with baby (size, development): Well, I can definitely hear movement on the Doppler and baby moves away from it. S/he has a good 2" CRL at this point.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We are telling our daughter on Friday. Our son has been asking every single day if he can tell her. He is so, so excited to talk about the baby without having to worry if she overhears, but he's also really excited to be part of telling her.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I'm starting to come out of the first trimester fog and feel a little more human. I have cramps if I crouch down and stuff though which is frustrating. That's earlier than it was with my others.

When is your next appointment: I have an NT scan on Friday. Technically it's my family doctor who is following my pregnancy at this point but we are looking for a new one because he over books terribly (it always takes two hours to see him after our appointment time) and he's not very good at dispensing information. I've been getting my own lab reports and stuff and usually just bring them to walk in clinics.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? My son. While he can keep a surprise secret if he's told to, generally he's as blunt as a brick. Sort of goes with the territory with autism though.

  • Week: 9

What's new with baby (size, development): no longer an embryo ;)

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  nothing right now

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I've been feeling terrible since yesterday afternoon, had some spotting that was heavier than normal and then slightly red. Now today there's slight pain on left side. At my last apt Dr said I have a very irritable cervix so I'm not getting too worried since it's still pretty brown and no real cramping.  But with the overall yuck feeling it'sill stressful though

When is your next appointment:  May 10

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? My son, he'll tell on himself before anyone
  • Week: 11

What's new with baby (size, development): size of a lime

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just still refinishing furniture to get DD1 in her "big girl room".  That will be a long ongoing process. We did announce this weekend. I'm so impatient.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: Feeling way better this week. Went to a spin class yesterday and hope to get back to my usual physical activity level

When is your next appointment: NT Scan Friday

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? My BFF. She will tell it to me straight no matter what.
    Me: 30 DH:31 DD:3

    EDD: 11/14/16

  • @Babydoll572011 yay a due date buddy! Are you as jealous of these 12 week ladies as I am ;)

    Week:

     9

What's new with baby (size, development):
Graduated to fetus! Size of a pecan

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:
    Nothing yet

    Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:
Still mostly symptom free, though my boobs have been hurting like crazy. Poas again this weekend because my symptoms are so weak lol

    When is your next appointment:
Nurse appt is this Friday! My first appointment with my midwife is 5/12

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know?
    probably my husband
  • @Roxell yes I am! Lol probably because I thought I was 10w and then my ultrasound said I was only 7w  :p I'm so over feeling icky
  • Week: 12 yay!!

What's new with baby (size, development): baby is the size of a lemon or plum. Time for some major growth now.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Started thinking of names lately, since we know for sure we're having a girl now.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I feel like I'm still in shock/denial that we're having a girl for some reason. I keep thinking to myself that maybe I heard the lady wrong or the test was wrong, and then I'll see a peepee on the ultrasound at 20 weeks. I'm crazy I know. I'm just so excited.
Also I am still super tired all the time but other than that I feel pretty dang good!

When is your next appointment:  today for a possible uti, regular check up is on may 2nd though.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? I'd say probably myself. I'm a horrible liar anyways but I hate having to hide the truth and i get paranoid that ill get caught, so I just don't do it.
  • Week: 12! This one feels so good!

What's new with baby (size, development): baby is nearly 2 inches!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I have spent the weekend completely deep cleaning my house. No corner went unscrubbed! I call it spring cleaning, my H calls it nesting! Next week or so we will be clearing out the guest room to prepare for nursery and carpet cleaning.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions: I feel SO much better this past week or so. The only symptoms I seem to have left are crazy aversions and reflux. I get RLP here and there. I finally caved and ordered my home doppler today!! Hopefully it creates more soothing than panicking.

When is your next appointment: April 12, but going to see if dr will see me a week earlier since I start my new job that week and dont want to request off or explain why just yet.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? Aside from any child ive ever met, probably my ex coworker. We are still good friends and go to eachother for life advice. I think we bonded so quickly because we arent afraid to tell each other the truth.
  • Week: 12

What's new with baby (size, development): Lime/Plum
Baby has reflexes and while I will not feel it yet, starting to move more.

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby:  Nothing specific yet.  We will be most likely moving before the baby is born so there will not be much nesting to do until then.  I am avoiding shopping until I know the sex too.

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  My morning sickness did not start until about 9 1/2 weeks so today was no different.  Has not been horrible, but pretty much guarantee a morning trip to the toilet after breakfast every day.  I am still pretty tired on a daily basis, but do seem to have a little more energy each day.  We started telling friends and family so its been a fun surprise to share.  Friends of ours gave us a really nice glider over the weekend so that was nice!  We are going to officially announce (not real until its on social media, lol) on Mother's Day.

When is your next appointment:  May 2nd for a check-up and my NT scan on the 4th.

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know?  My mother... not always a good thing ;)

  • Week: 12, 3 months! woohoo!

What's new with baby (size, development): size of a plum, adorable! Baby is moving around like crazy and is 2 inches long. Grow baby, grow!

What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Wearing a Bella Band with all of my work pants. So looking forward to telling work people this week because I feel like my life is a lie!

Rant/rave/symptoms/questions:  Headaches will be the death of me. At least I am not sick to my stomach as much now though.

When is your next appointment: Wednesday!

GTKY: (Stolen from Sunday's) Who is the most honest person you know? My mom and dad! My dad always tells it like it is in a way that is respectful and is someone I an always trust. My mom is the same way, very lucky to have two parents like that!
