Implantation?!

Hello ladies! So I am reaching out for some advice! My charts are typically the same every month not much change. My lp temperature is usually no higher than 97.7 and never drops until AF shows. This month is totally different. I've had mild cramps yesterday and the previous day. Could this possibly be an implantation dip? Period is due to show either Tuesday or Wednesday

I could be. It also could not be. Unfortunaley there's no way of knowing until you get a BFP or AF. This a good question for the daily Two Week Wait (TWW) thread.

Many things can cause a low temp. Unless you have a positive hpt there is no way to know if your chart shows an implantation dip and not a random low temp.

I get the same dip every month and I have yet to be pregnant. Take a HPT. If it's negative, wait until Wednesday to take another test. If that one't negative, AF will arrive at some point.

Also, this post would have been better suited in the TWW thread, which gets posted daily. This is what's considered a chart stalk, which many of the ladies in the TWW are very good at.

Also, a word to the wise, it sounds like you are asking if we think you are pregnant. We can't tell you that. There are only two ways to tell if you are pregnant: one is a HPT, the other is a blood test from your doctor. Just keep testing and maybe try to participate in the TWW thread until AF shows.

An implantation dip would not last two days like this. You seem to have a lot of missed or discarded temps. Why is that? If you put those discarded temps back in, a case could be made for you not ovulating yet at all. You could also be about to get AF - it's not a huge deal if your LP is a day shorter or longer on one cycle. In any case, you really can't observe an implantation dip except in hindsight.

This question would have gone better in TWW. No need to create your own thread for it.

There's no way we can really know if you are having an implantation dip...it can only be noted in retrospect after a BFP. I'm with @MonaLisaRalphio with so many missing temps your chart is hard to read, if you put them back in you might get a better story of what's going on.

I will say, I had an unusual temp dip during my LP last cycle, and I wasn't pregnant. So, there's that. Also, feel free to join in the TWW thread, where this question would be more appropriate.

I wasn't asking that at all! I just know there is a lot of controversy on implantation dips and I just wanted some feedback on the topic.

I work odd shifts so some days I can not temp and there is no way around it. If I did temp on those days temps would be sporadic because it's not the same time. Also i was sleeping in a camper for a weekend and that's a change in environment and do not temp then because it wouldn't be valid.

Implantation dips are pretty rare and usually only confirmed in hindsight after pregnancy is confirmed.

Wait, how can you NOT be asking if you are pregnant if you are asking if you are having an implantation dip? Like others said, there is no way for any of us to know. I have had single dips on 7DPO and not been pregnant. There is no point in over analyzing it, but if you really want to this would be a better post in the TWW thread that is posted every single day for this kind of thing.

Just take a pregnancy test. That is the only way to know. None of us can help.

Implantation dips can only be seen in hindsight, once you find out if you are or are not pregnant. There is a still a lot of unanswered questions over the illusive implantation dip. Your temps can go up and down at anytime for different reasons, we would not be able to tell you anything different. I always get a temp dip in the middle of my LP, but I am still here. Definitely join us in the TWW and WTO threads, because we do a lot of CS around there, it prevents the board from getting too cluttered.

Not sure if anyone else has already mentioned this, but you can also get a temperature dip like this from your estrogen surge, which usually takes place around this point in the LP. It's also not something that has to happen every cycle (I had it last cycle but not this cycle, for example, and I definitely was not pregnant last cycle).

Estrogen and progesterone have different rates of surging and dropping off in the luteal phase, possibly responsible for a dip, like you describe, in a lot of pregnant charts AND non-pregnant charts alike. Also, if you have a short LP, this could be the drop before your period. Otherwise, what PP said.

"Is this an implantation dip" is basically "is a ball of cells burrowing into my uterus and altering my temp" which is basically "am I pregnant." This is really close to a drive-by. If you do get your BFP in the next few days, please just move on to your BMB.

I had a dip and cramps starting at 7dpo last cycle and I was not pregnant. Take a test. If positive please do not update here..go straight to your birth month board.

I second the person who said that asking if that was an implantation dip was the same as asking if you were pregnant. How are we supposed to know? I'm sorry that I left my crystal ball in my other pants today.
