Cloth Diaper Brands

I know there are a couple cloth diaper threads that cover a lot of info but I'm looking for any information from moms that have used cloth diapers that can tell me their favorite and least favorite brands and why. The amount of cloth diapers out there is overwhelming and I am just totally lost right now.
Thanks!

Re: Cloth Diaper Brands

  • I haven't used a lot of brands, and there isn't a lot that I didn't like at one time of the other. I really don't like Alva's. They are cheaper diapers, and some people like them, they just did no fit my skinny legged baby well at all, and when his legs chunked up finally, they still didn't fit well. Just didn't like them at all. When my son was smaller I really like Rumparooz, but when he got quite a bit bigger, they were just ok, I didn't like the fit as much. Fuzzibunz were just ok. I like Bumgenius quite a bit, they fit pretty well, but I actually liked Flips better, They are cover versions of Bumgenius. For some reason they seemed to fit better, and were more trim. My absolute favorites have been Applecheeks! They are a one size, but the size 1 lasts a long time, as do the size 2s. They fit my guy so well, and did great when stuffed properly for overnight!!

  • I will second bum genius. The baby home where I work mainly uses them and they just work great for us.
Other favorite - Hippybottomus (though I think specific to austrailia?)
and Tots Bots but I think thats UK specific...

We love Grovia, I use the hybrids at home, AIOs when we are out and about (they are crazy trim), and ONES at night that we have never had leaks out of even after 12 hours.

  • I liked my Kawaiis. They're not expensive and they fit my chunky baby really well. The elastics held up well too. I also liked my Blueberry and Rumparooz too. Bum Genius was ok. I like the colors and prints they have, but I don't think the elastics held up as well as some of my other brands. Charlie Banana wasn't my favorite either. For overnights, you won't find anything better than a SustainableBabyish (Sbish) Overnight Bamboo Fleece fitted paired with a wool cover.

  • We have Alva and kawaii pockets. I liked them a lot. If we go that route again in going to grab flour sack towels and covers to give it a try.

Try to find a group on Facebook (fluff love is a big one) and chat. I bought a lot secondhand on eBay and the bst sites because I didn't want to sump $200 into a big brand and find out I hated them.

  • We have found bum genius and smart bottoms to be our favorites. AIOs are just sooooo convenient. The only problem is we've been noticing the smart bottoms degrading after washing (a ton of washing, like almost a year's worth) mostly around the top back seams, so we aren't using them overnight or on particularly watery bm days.
  • We are also fans of the Flips diaper system.

  • Yes! I forgot about Kawaii! I quite liked them! They fit pretty well, and held up nicely! We used them quite a lot!

  • We used Best Bottoms for baby #1 and plan to do so again for #2.  I liked being able to remove the diaper insert, and personally didn't want to have to worry about stuffing pocket diapers to have them ready for the next day.

  • I just ordered a few Lil helpers to add to my stash for this kid and they seem really nice. I have a lot of BG from DS.

  • Grovia hybrid system is very economic friendly plus you have the option of an organic cotton insert, and their AIOs are awesome, Smart Bottoms are great bc they're all organic and the hem around the legs and back is inverted and won't leave squeeze marks on baby, and I'm with previous mothers about Bum Genius. We use all three and will continue doing so. I also sell them and other brands at my store for a livibg, I've tried all the top brands- and these are the best.
  • For my son i went with Fuzzibunz and Sunbabys and i didnt have problems with either....
  • Thirsties are my favorite!!  We use prefolds and their covers are the BEST
